I think they have explored pretty much every aspect.

Why has parry opted for a design that has no possiblity of increasing capacity beyond 60,000? Surely, if indications and survey are right (ie fan base 18m) and we win the league the demand for tickets would exceed that figure by some considerable amount.

With planning permission - don't forget, that is needed first! The new ground does have expansion potential...although no-one seems to be talking to loudly about that at the moment for obvious reasons, i.e., let's get this one built above the objections first before we talk about expansion!

I can't believe our new stadium cannot be expanded from it's projected 61,000. I'm sure that 15-20 years down the line if we wished to expand to 75,000 or more it will be possible - 'Where there's a will there's a way' as the saying goes. First of all we've got to demonstrate that it would be worth expanding further by filling our new stadium week in week out over the next decade or two after it's built. Then we can start dealing with the Joe Kenny's of the time (in 15-20 years or so) who will always be around.

Great!!! If that is coreect. I'm not doubting you, but could you please supply some kind of source, Or you an architect/Civil engineer who seen that the structure is able to afford an extension should the need arise?

I've seen the plans (they are/were publicly available) and have talked to structural engineers not related to the project (at least so far as I know) but who know their stuff. They reckoned the plans were cleverly designed to incorporate this in the future without it mounting to more than a refurb.

Parry said it can't

Not in those terms, quite. Because of the politics involved locally in getting any new stadium at all built, possible expansion of something certain elements within local government etc don't actually want anyway is off the agenda as a topic of conversation. Running before we can work and all that.

how often are we likely to fill a 60,000 seat ground? Big games, yes. But Middlesboro on a Weds evening? Pompey? No point in having a huge ground which we only fill 4-5 times a season

So you're saying despite having a bigger fanbase than Arsenal or Newcastle, and a waiting list as long as the East Lancs, we would be the ones who couldn't fill or nearly fill a stadium most games, while they could?

I don't believe that for a second.
