A mate of mine got totally and utterly pissed after work, so much so the office girls put him in a cab home at 10.00 p.m.

He was halfway home when he had a blazing row with the cabbie, he can't remember what it was about although he does remember saying 'stick yoyur f*cking cab up your arsse you c*nt' as he was slung out.

Walking home in the rain he saw a car drive past in both directions before coming to a stop alongside him. He was scared it might be a gang loking for a victim but it was actually a nice middle aged couple. 'It's raining, can we offer you a lift?'

My mate grunted got in and slurred his address. He got out of the car, staggered to the door straight into a row with his missus for coming in bolllocksed and waking the kids up.

The next day ....

Hungover to feck, wife's not talking to him and it's still pissing down, a letter pops on the mat. No stamp hand delivered, he opened it.

'Dear Friend'

You won't remember us very well, we are the couple who picked you up off the street last night. We haven't stopped thinking about you all night, you are obviously a very unhappy person. Your anger and lack of self control is symptomatic and you need help.

Have no fear help is in hand in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. We implore you, take this opportunity to turn your sad and lonely life into a life filled with hope and joy. Please, please, please take your opportunity to be saved by the Lord, come along to the Tabernacle in Whitby Street at 7.00 p.m. on Sunday evening. Redemption and fulfillment is at hand.

Our meeting yesterday was not a coincidence.

Yours in Christ ..
