Guest bluehouse Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 would you buy Liverpool FC? How much of your own money would you invest? Would you increase ticket prices? What you set the transfer budget to be this season? Would you go ahead with the new stadium with fixed capacity for 60,000 spectators?
Guest Garstonite Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I'd say I would and give Benitez hundreds of millions, decrease ticket prices to a penny and build a 200,000 seater stadium, but I'd probably blow it on a magic bean.

Rimbeux Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 would you buy Liverpool FC? Yep How much of your own money would you invest?Enough to plug any gaps in funding a new stadium, giving the club a bigger income without having to borrow unwisely. Would you increase ticket prices? No more than at the current rate What you set the transfer budget to be this season?Enough to make up the difference between what we have now, and would have with the income from a new stadium Would you go ahead with the new stadium with fixed capacity for 60,000 spectators?Absolutely, it's a sensible number, and takes into account a future where every game will be available live
Kahnee Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I was going to say yes, but that magic bean idea has potential...
Mondavi Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 would you buy Liverpool FC? How much of your own money would you invest? Would you increase ticket prices? What you set the transfer budget to be this season? Would you go ahead with the new stadium with fixed capacity for 60,000 spectators? Yes A lot of it No As much as Rafa feels he needs to "furnish our house". I'd have faith that he wouldn't waste the cash on expensive paintings, or other such decorations and ornaments. Rafa's brief for the designer would be minimalist, but exceedingly efficient and functional. There would however be room in the garage for a couple of extra pieces, but nothing too Bolshevist Would prefer it to be nearer 70.

What you set the transfer budget to be this season? Would you go ahead with the new stadium with fixed capacity for 60,000 spectators? No I'd buy Everton As much as Kenwright You bet your feckin life I would Same as Kenwright, enough to buy and humiliate a new manc every year I would pretend to build a series of super-stadiums (with detachable roller-hockey rinks, a self-folding roof/giant billiard table and dire straits and dollar tribute bands on every other week) and have the echo run front page stories about my madcap schemes every six months.
Fagan Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 (edited) would you buy Liverpool FC? No, i wouldnt know the first thing about running such a massive business and club. but i would invest in a vast amount of shares and a new stadium so i could contribute at board level, have an interest in the stadium, get tickets whenever i want, and not have to rely on these forums for dodgy transfer tidbits How much of your own money would you invest?A substantial amount, important that the club doesnt feel it can rely on a sugar daddy though, id invest whatever was needed to build the new stadium, increase facilities at the club and melwood, give rafa whatever he needed for players. Would you increase ticket prices? absolutely not. What you set the transfer budget to be this season?no budget per say. keeping the wage structure in check would be the biggest challenge Would you go ahead with the new stadium with fixed capacity for 60,000 spectators?no id have a stadium with an option to enlarge. no harm in keeping your options open Edited May 20, 2006 by Afgan
Guest jlb21 Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 would you buy Liverpool FC?Yes !! How much of your own money would you invest?Enough to avoid Anfield destruction and to transform it into a 60 000 seats stadium, and also enough to improve the team. Would you increase ticket prices? No, I'll divide the price by two. What you set the transfer budget to be this season?Enough to give Rafa the possibility to sign any player he needs to improve his squad. Would you go ahead with the new stadium with fixed capacity for 60,000 spectators? No, I'd try first to transform Anfield, even if it needs a higher budget.
smithdown Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I was going to say yes, but that magic bean idea has potential... Is it really magic?

Billionaires run massive businesses!!!Yours pedantically.
charlie clown Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 If I was a billionaire who'd worked really hard and been painstakingly carfeul with my financial jusdegements and decisions to amass my fortune, I'd abandon the habit of a lifetime and ask people on an internet forum if I should do it or not.
Rushian Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I wouldn't buy the club but I would pay for a 80,000 stadium. That's enough of a legacy to keep the club going for decades.
Owen1978 Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I wouldn't buy the club but I would pay for a 80,000 stadium. That's enough of a legacy to keep the club going for decades. I would also have a retractalbe pitch which reveals a missile silo, so we can aim them at goodison & old trafford!

G Richards Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I'd pay for a new stadium, hopefully making the capacity a bit bigger, but not too big/soulless. I'd also invest a lump sum which would generate annual income to be used for the manager in the tranfer market - nothing too ridiculous though, say enough to generate £15-20M per season. With a free stadium (and larger income), plus a £20M a year head start on the transfer budget, we would be well set up. Ticket prices would stay the same, and in years to come I would ensure they remained amongst the lowest in the Prem.

smithdown Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 You'd rent it out to them? lease it? or donate it? He wouldn't share it before you ask.

What you set the transfer budget to be this season? Would you go ahead with the new stadium with fixed capacity for 60,000 spectators? - Yes - At least 25% of my fortune - No - As much as Rafa needed or wanted - No - Anfield = Liverpool
Rimbeux Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Tightwad! Maybe, but I know as a fan, I'd prefer the club to be able to support itself, and not rely on one man's cash, so if i was in position, I'd invest, properly invest, not just bankroll, in the things that would make that happen.
libero Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 would you buy Liverpool FC?Off courseHow much of your own money would you invest?Just enough so I had enough to live onWould you increase ticket prices?NoWhat you set the transfer budget to be this season?Twelvety gazillionWould you go ahead with the new stadium with fixed capacity for 60,000 spectators?Yes but my only stipulation would be that the club would have to move lock stock and barrel to Fife so they could be near my hoose.
