Guest dannylad Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 ...and if it has already been mentioned apologies in advance. Last night in Paris, somebody near the camera mics started singing "de de-de de-der de der der" and this happened on the 41st minute and the 46th (1min into injury time). So who was the red in paris singing ring of fire? And was I alone in hearing this?

owenthomas Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 i thought i heard a blast of it and thought it must have been something else that sounds similar - maybe not?
Montse Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Yeah I think I heard that as well - hope its not being adopted as a rallying call for all sporting teams (England cricket team played it too) cos its ours! On another note did you hear in the pre match build up they were saying how the Barca fans were in good voice singing and waving flags, then they cut to the Arsenal end where everyone was in yellow and white (wtf??) The comment was 'its a bit quiet down the arsenal end mind you Highbury has always been a quiet place to go' or words to that effect
jimmylibel Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 I heard a load of Arsenal fans were supposedly singing "Ring of Fire" in Paris before the game yesterday.
Extraordinary Swindle Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 On another note did you hear in the pre match build up they were saying how the Barca fans were in good voice singing and waving flags, then they cut to the Arsenal end where everyone was in yellow and white (wtf??) The comment was 'its a bit quiet down the arsenal end mind you Highbury has always been a quiet place to go' or words to that effect Yeah one end displayed "B A R C A" and as the camera panned to the boring end and showed the yellow and white a guy in the pub shouted "They obviously digitally removed the word 'A R S E' from the transmission."

Jimi Rojo Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Came across pretty clear on my coverage. Couldn't believe it!!!!!
12twelve Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 They thought singing the song will automatically entitle them to become champions of Europe...
Guest red4life Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 There were some singing it in O'Neills in town last night
Guest red4life Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 in Liverpool? Yep About 15-20 Arsenal fans in there happily singing at 1-0 up
Gravy Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Hereford fans in the playoff now Hereford team just started singing it too. That's that then I guess.
Guest Kev Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Hereford fans in the playoff now I'm sure I heard a scouse twang to it as well.
Guest chrispy Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Face it lads, Liverpool FC have always been 'Trend Setters' unlike the f***ing sheep who support Arsenal, Scum, Chavs etc. We're always going to be imitated.
kop205 Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Thought this might happen when i heard about the England cricket team using it. You can guarantee the so-called 'Barmy Army' will be singing it Down Under this winter. Shame, hope it doesn't happen but could be inevitable now.
libero Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Dont worry in 40 years Celtic will be singing it and claiming it is thier song ans always has been..... I'll get me coat.
