Guest Portly Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I don't know if this is true, but someone at work told me today that if Arsenal win the CL, they will be promoted to second place in the Premiership and Liverpool will go down to 4th. This would mean that we would be unseeded in the qualifying round and could be drawn against tough opposition. Has anybody else heard this?
madaboutlfc Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 (edited) seedings arent affected by what arsenal do.. our tv money is affected but we are still the top seeds Edited May 17, 2006 by madaboutlfc
Guest Yozza Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 I think that Arsenal will take Celtics place if they win as an automatic qualifier and they will have to drop into the qualifying stages.

Rory Fitzgerald Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Do Arsenal qualify automatically for the CL next season if they win ? Surely we have to be seeded, we won it last year for god's sake ! Though, could we be unseeded in the groups ? surely not either !?
Falconhoof Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Arsenal will still have to qualify for next season's competition whether they win or lose tonight. We'll be seeded for the qualifiers.
RP Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 That gives them the full set of trophies. Or so they just said on the Beeb. F*** that. Come on Barca.
Guest Portly Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Did they ask you to go out and buy a tin of stripy paint too? No, but they sent me round to the stores to ask for a long weight. I was there for ages!
cArLiTo Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 No, but they sent me round to the stores to ask for a long weight. I was there for ages! Should have got you to ask for a can of Kop-On too
ricflairandy Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 IF they win, the media will make it out to be the best season in there history(forgetting the fact that they have been s*** for 80 percent of it) And the event will have been better than last year. Oh, and they wont have been lucky , just pure class who play the best free flowing football and never play 1 upfront. not like the s**** that we where all season, lucky b******s we are.
Scally Bob Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Won the Fairs Cup in 1970. It's so long ago Newcastle were the previous winners.

Cheers, my sentiments exactly. If we'd have turned in a performance like they did at Villareal...

Cobs Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 That gives them the full set of trophies. They never had their hands on the Milk Cup
Torby Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 if they win they will go straight through, manure will drop out Nope, if Arsenal win they will go straight to the group play together with Chelsea and Man U from England.
Guest Budo Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 manure will drop out... Of a rocking horses @rse before they'll win it in the foreseeable anyway.
Guz Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 The quality of Arsenal's football hasnt been that good. No where near a patch on what they have produced under Wenger in the past. Its fair enough because they're a side in transition but if they tried to be any more expansive they would have been beaten by now. Fair play to em though
