Can anyone tell me if this funky phallus of a yoke -->here<-- is meant to be any good?

 

I've no landline in my gaff and no intention of getting one either, but I want to get in on the internet act now that I have a laptop (Inspiron 1300, 512MB memory, 40GB hard drive, Windows XP). Does anybody have any experience of this irishbroadband.ie crowd or are they a shower of cowboys? The device in the above link looks like it comes in a cracker with a paper hat and a joke.

 

Alternatively, what's the best way of getting broadband access for myself? This seems like a decent way of avoiding the rigmarole of taking the day off and getting some geezer to put a connexion in my bedroom.

 

Any advice, good people?
