An easy recipe needed

Right, sensible suggestions only please (I know, I am being very hoepful)

 

I need an idea for a really simple recipe. My culinary skills are fairly limited so nothing too time consuming or fiddly. And no fish either please. My parents are coming over for lunch on Sunday for the first time in ages, so I need something I can rustle up - and they like their food so it needs to be something half decent!
