DaveLFC Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 (edited) Robbie Fowler has today put pen to paper on his Liverpool contract to tie him to the club for next season. Fowler originally signed a six month deal in January but has impressed Rafael Benitez and the management staff sufficiently to warrant a new one year deal. The agreement between both parties was reached last week and the Reds' striker officially signed his new deal today. Fowler said: "It's been a great season for the club and it finished off in the best way possible by winning the FA Cup in Cardiff. "Obviously I was a bit disappointed to be cup-tied for the competition but to be honest being offered a new Liverpool contract was my cup final. "I'm looking forward to next season already and can't wait to get started. I think it could be another great one for the club." http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N...060516-1638.htm Edited May 16, 2006 by Figaro

Guest Anders Honoré Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Anyone still against his coming back to Anfield ? He's done better than I thought he would. No complaints here.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 lets see him hit the 200-goal mark (for the club) next season & get another deal after scoring the winner in Ancient Athens
Rich Gobey Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Reminds me very much of the way Pepe Signori carried on scoring and being important at Lazio well into his thirties.
vish Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Just imagine Robbie lifting the Premiership trophy next year...
sutty Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I hope he doesn't score a last minute winner at Old Trafford and give it the 5 finger salute. That would be terrible.
Guest The Chunk Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Can't believe Rafa isn't getting a lot of credit for this. He took a lot of s*** in the media, and from sections of our fans, but it was a masterstroke. He improved our goals scored and raised the feel good factor of the club through the roof by bringing one of the great Liverpool players back to where he belongs.
anny road Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 I hope he doesn't score a last minute winner at Old Trafford and give it the 5 finger salute. That would be terrible. OMG WTF
Figaro Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Reminds me very much of the way Pepe Signori carried on scoring and being important at Lazio well into his thirties. Keep it up - you'll be asked to be on '90 Minutos' in Italy next.
lfc4eva99 Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 great to see this deal done, a good pre season under his belt im sure robbie can score a minimum of 15 goals in the league itself.....
Guest Assassin Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Formalities are completed, well made up for him, me and the club. Too be honest, no direspect to any other signings this year. Rafa pulled off the signing of the season with Robbie. For Robbie`s part of the deal he has proved the Doubting Owenses wrong.
Rex Ham Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Brilliant news. I'm surprised it's gone this well for him, but f**kin delighted it has.
RafaShanks Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 So this is the striker who was having the medical at Anfield today?
Bootle Buck Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 We couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo in January. Robbie returns and all of a sudden we were scoring for fun. Coincidence. "God works in Mysterious Ways"
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 see the Carra/Crouch interview? When asked who the most skilful player at the club is, they start off with LG & decide it's Robbie
Rich Gobey Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Keep it up - you'll be asked to be on '90 Minutos' in Italy next. James Richardsons new footie show on Bravo for next season is called 'novanta midgetos' curiously.
aka Dus Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 As it should be. Has played well and had an obvious galvanising effect on the team - old friends and new alike. Rafa is no fool.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Reminds me very much of the way Pepe Signori carried on scoring and being important at Lazio well into his thirties. good call. brilliant striker he was too.
CarraLegend Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Delighted, Robbie's like a brother to me (Never met him properly or spoke to him though) but I know we have a special bond.
