Just about to finish reading The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon (won the Pulitzer in 2001) and, unless it turns out it was all a dream, then its possibily the most beautiful book i've ever read - just superb. Huge and sprawling story, its funny, its very sad and just an amazing read.

Got me thinking - i've read some great books but there are many that i'm not aware of and thought, by way of a discussion, i could steal your respective ideas and get some good reading done over summer.

So, whats yours?
