Guest Kev Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Scotsman Two charged after fan is killed in flats TWO men have been charged in connection with the death of a young football fan at a block of flats in Sighthill. Police said the victim, believed to be Liverpool fan, Mark Blackie, became involved in a dispute with a number of men at a flat in Dunsyre House, Calder Crescent, just before midnight on Saturday. It is understood that the 22-year-old father-of-two had earlier been celebrating his team's triumph in the FA Cup Final with friends at a party. He is thought to have moved to Edinburgh from the Merseyside area around two years ago. Police said two men, aged 29 and 40, had been charged in relation to the death and were due to appear in court today. Catherine Hadden, of nearby Calder Grove, said she had heard about the killing when she woke up this morning. Ms Hadden said: "I got a shock when I looked out of my window at 8 o'clock and saw police swarming about the place." One local, who asked not to be named, said: "He had been celebrating Liverpool winning the FA Cup, but that doesn't really mean much now. It's just terrible."
Cliff M Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 He won't RIP until the t***s who killed him have been put away and he has some sort of justice. Poor guy.
mooks Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Did the (alleged) murder have anything to do with his being a Liverpool fan?
