Clay Davis Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 30. won't improve them that much. i dont care about how they improve their midfield. its when they get Shevchenko i'll be worrying.
CarraLegend Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 His pathetic dive in the CL last season against Chelsea probably convinced Mourinho to get him, he's also an arrogant c*** by all accounts. The perfect Chelsea player.
Guest 70400 Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 face it, ballack or no ballack, sheva or no sheva, chelski are miles ahead in the premiership. If anything they are brought to win the CL. It will be interesting, especially if Henry goes to Barca, and if Juve/Milan are relegated and forced to sell players.
Bootle Buck Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Another gutless Mercenary looking for a big paycheck. He has done feck all while at Bayern. They are perennial domestic champs but have done nothing in the CL since he went there. He should fit in nicely with the Chavsters.

He is doing what's best for him and his family. What exactly was he supposed to do at bayern, win the CL all by himself?
galés rojo Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Mercenary Schmercenary. He is doing what's best for him and his family. What exactly was he supposed to do at bayern, win the CL all by himself? Yeah coz chelsea have one loads more than Bayern haven't they. Ballack is a top player but he only gives a s*** about himself.

Who is he supposed to give a s*** about? Greenpeace? Saving Canadian club seals? Are you really being serious? Further, would you rather play in the Bundesliga or the Premiership? Finally not everyone joining Chelski is a mercenary, and not everyone joining LFC does it becasue he was in love with the club since he was nipper. Edited May 14, 2006 by 70400
Benzo-13 Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 (edited) He should've went to Madrid. A prestigous club looking for leadership on the pitch and a new Messiah.. He's just gone to that lot for the dough and will be relegated to being Lumplard's lieutenant. Edited May 14, 2006 by Benzo-13
Guest 70400 Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Madrid is going thru the motions with presidential elections and what not. They are due some major changes in the team, and may not be able to compete with Barca/Valencia for a couple of years until the new crop of players have gelled. Why would a 30-year old want to join them?

chrisbonnie Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 id have worried if it was 2 years ago, he`s just an ageing German Gerrard cant blame the lad for wantign all the roubles, id change my job if i got 3 times the wages im on now, and i work for my dad
Guest Portly Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I have given up worrying about who Chelsea sign. Fortunately, unless negotiations between Kenyon and the FA are successful, Chelsea are only allowed to have 11 players on the pitch at any one time. Ballack will no doubt expect to get regular games, so who are they going to drop to make way for him? Makelele? Lampard?
Lee W Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 id have worried if it was 2 years ago, he`s just an ageing German Gerrard You're doing a grave disservice to Gerrard there. Ballack isn't fit to lick Steven's boots - never has been really and I've always found him vastly overrated. Good signing for us this, as I can see Ballack either causing aggro behind the scenes when he isn't playing or completely upsetting the balance of their team/squad. Ballack and Lampard in the same midfield will not work imo. As someone said above, I would be more concerned about them getting Shevchenko but there is nothing we can do about it...
Nebraska Red Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 he is a bloody good player and is costing them nothing other than his wages. whether he has the nads to survive a full season in the PL with no Winter break is another matter. it is up to the rest of the PL to play better against the Chavs on a weekly basis and not throw the towel in as so many have done in the past. they will be favorites again, but if we get off to a good start , we can give them a run for their money.
Cooldude Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Momo will kick the s*** outta him in the Community Shield
madaboutlfc Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 i think he will f*** up chelsea big time.. he is not quick wrong side of 30.. im not worried Rafas astute signings will sort it out
Jarg Armani Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 where does this leave essien? does he have to wait til makalele retires to get a game now? and how much did they pay for him??
Benitez Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Chelsea's first 11 next season: ........................................Cech .................................Terry - Carvalho Robben - Makalelelelelele - Essien - Lampard - Ballack - Cole - Duff ........................................Sheva
Grimes Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Looks like Sheva is on the way too. But it ain't "Top Trumps" its football. You still have to do it on the pitch. Rafa won two league titles against the supposed galacticos. I think wage madness, competition for places and the general jealousy of these two genuine "world" superstars being in the camp which will accompany both Ballack and Sheva will stir things up nicely in the background. Not to mention the fact that Mourhino will be under pressure to play with a more adventurous style and is already looking very tetchy. Could be fun!
