With his history of recurring groin injuries I hope they don't patch him up and rush him back.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 What a bottler, eh?t5oo right, should have played through it; run it off or something
RedHarvest Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Gutted for Harry. I hope he makes it to the WC. Really feel a good campaign for his country would cap a remarkable comeback year for the lad and do his confidence a world of good.
Andyjandy Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Hes' had a f***ing nightmare recently, poor little idiot.
Jimi Rojo Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 There's one team photo where he's on the far left looking absolutely gutted. Poor guy http://img131.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2...f010facupfi.jpg

_00_deathscar Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 That's bad news Get well soon Harry - always been one of my favourite players...it's such a shame to see things go this way for his dream move
CaptainXabi Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 With the arrival of Gonzalez and Zenden being fit again, I think it is really best for him to just sit it out as long as it takes to get this thing sorted, if it's possible. Of course they should strap him up for the World Cup, as he shouldn't miss that, but after that do all the cutting, snipping, and fixing necessary and just wait until he's as good as new. He doesn't deserve the torment he's going through.
Moose Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I can see the arrival of Gonzalez being good for Harry. Hes obviously always going to have injury worries, being able to rotate the two could help bring out the best in him.
Guest BigChief Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I'm disappointed Josemi didn't try to force his way into that shot.
eth Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Worst possible time for a World Cup summer for Kewell. That injury needs as much rest as possible. I think if he plays in Germany he should be allowed a month or two off to get it fixed. The reason imo he recovered somewhat this season was the enforced rest from the hernia op.
micmij Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 What injury forced Harry off against Chelsea? It was a groin, too, wasn't it? I have a feeling that if it wasn't for the Cup final Harry wouldn't have played again this season after the injury in the semi-final. Hopefully the tear isn't too bad and he'll be fully fit for the World Cup and then get a nice break before the start of next season. BTW, who's the guy in the middle of the shot? Pepe's brother???
ManxRed Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Did anyone time how long it took him to run the length of the pitch and embrace Pepe?? I only ask because that will determine whether he's crap or not.
cymrococh Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Apparently he had to be forced to come out to collect his medal, he didn't join in any celebrations and just stood in the background looking on.
madaboutlfc Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Djibril Cisse has revealed how he encouraged Harry Kewell to join in the Liverpool celebrations on Saturday after the Reds' winger limped out of the Cup final. Kewell tore a groin muscle against West Ham and was forced to leave the field early for the third major final in a row. The Australian star is expected to be fit for this summer's World Cup finals after a scan revealed he is likely to be out of action for three weeks, but Cisse admits his close friend was a distraught figure at the final whistle in Cardiff. "Harry is like a brother to me here at Liverpool, and it was hard to see him really disappointed like that," said Cisse. "So I went over to get him at the end. I wanted to do my best for him, but it was hard. Three times in a final now he has had to come off. So I am going to do what I can for him." Cisse, meanwhile, has reiterated his determination to still be a Liverpool player next season even though he knows his future will be the subject of much speculation over the coming weeks. "I have done my best with the bit of time I have had to play," he added. "But he is the boss and it is his decision. We haven't spoken about it yet and maybe won't do until after the World Cup, because there isn't much time before it now. "I don't want to leave. I know it is not going to be my decision whether I do or not, but I want to stay at Liverpool."
£440,000 Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Alan Green was slating him on the radio, implying that he'd bottled it. It's one thing fans saying stuff like that but Green's an idiot for saying that on the radio without having first heard what the injury problem was.
Kite Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 It is a bit of a tragedy to see Kewell like that, he obviously feels like his career is on the cusp of being over, or at least severely curtailed. Really feel sorry for him, he has a passion for football and, I think, for being a red, yet now twice in a row he has had to leave the pitch in an important final. As mentioned above, perhaps Gonzalez arrival will give him some more space and time to recover more fully in future - hopefully.

Guest The Chunk Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 It is a bit of a tragedy to see Kewell like that Get a friggin grip. We know what real tragedy is, and it certainly isn't some overpaid footballer picking up a slight injury.

Figaro Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Typical! I have money on Kewell to score against Brazil - I want Brazil out before the end of the first group matches...improbable not impossible Hope he recovers quickly. Good luck to him.
