Mike Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 he was inconsolable at the end, crying his eyes out.just wanted to be on his own - im guessing it's because he was injured and couldn't perform in another final?perhaps elisha can shed some light on it when he gets back from alma de cuba...
Scally Bob Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I've always been right behind Harry but I just think that might have been his last appearance for us.
Ombudsam Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 He was terrible as well. I thought just about everyone was awful yesterday cos we were crap. That gerrard was alright i spose
Andy-oh-six Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 He was gutted when he went off and crying as he walked down the tunnel. He'd suited up and looked equally dejected when he collected his medal. I feel for the guy.
ricflairandy Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I dont know how bad his injury was, but it doesnt look good when you see him goin goff injured, yet cisse, gerrard , harewood all playing through the pain barrier at the end.

Yeah and that bottler Alonso, he couldnt get off the pitch quick enough either ..

When all 3 subs had been used. Daft comparison. Felt sorry for Kewell yesterday, especially after his semi final performance.
Guest The Chunk Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 No one even knows what was wrong with him and he couldn't get off quick enough. He seemed alright at the end when he almost jumped onto the podium.
ricflairandy Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 When all 3 subs had been used. Daft comparison. Felt sorry for Kewell yesterday, especially after his semi final performance. Players can still go off if you have no subs and they deem there injury bad enough
Cobs Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Players can still go off if you have no subs and they deem there injury bad enoughthey had cramp, ffs.
Knoxy Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Players can still go off if you have no subs and they deem there injury bad enough He was injured and couldn't carry on, where's the contention?
Moose Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 No one even knows what was wrong with him and he couldn't get off quick enough. He seemed alright at the end when he almost jumped onto the podium. And Alonso, I take it you feel the same about him?
Cobs Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 He was injured and couldn't carry on, where's the contention?he possibly could have carried on BUT he was injured and we had a full quota of 3 fit substitutes to bring on at that time, with at least 45 mins left to play (an hour and 15 as it turned out). Can't believe people are this stupid.
Guest The Chunk Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 And Alonso, I take it you feel the same about him? Alonso stayed on till it was almost impossible for him to carry on. And he'd been out all week with his ankle problem. Kewell just seemed to start limping, then next minute he was running over to take a corner, then he went off. All very bizarre.
Moose Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Exactly, he played in all the previous rounds, put Gary Neville on his a*** against the mancs, played a blinder against Chelsea .. he deserves more than some petty sniping about something over which he had no control over. Get over it.

Lee W Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Apparently, Kewell strained/pulled the adductor muscle in his groin. Not sure whether it is the same one he has had recurring nightmare with. Out for two weeks or so....

If you dont like him, stop arsing around and say so, because your arguments dont hold much water. Edited May 14, 2006 by Moose
Ste M Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Alonso stayed on till it was almost impossible for him to carry on. And he'd been out all week with his ankle problem. Kewell just seemed to start limping, then next minute he was running over to take a corner, then he went off. All very bizarre. Before the second half kicked off Martin Tyler commented on Harry saying that at half time he'd limped down the tunnel and it was looking like he might be struggling. Not a surprise at all to me when he went off. Felt sorry for him too, he's had a good season and his performance alone at Old Trafford in the semi was worth the entrance fee. I hope it wasn't his last game for us, he's a top class player.

Get over it. Alright, calm down. Why is it virtually impossible to discuss certain players without getting jumped on by their number one fans? No one is slating the lad if he's picked up a serious injury, but the whole incident was very strange. Just what is your agenda here? If you dont like him, stop arsing around and say so, because your arguments dont hold much water. Agenda? If I don't like him? LMAO, what is this nonsense. Paranoid or what... Wiseman Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Alright, calm down. Why is it virtually impossible to discuss certain players without getting jumped on by their number one fans? No one is slating the lad if he's picked up a serious injury, but the whole incident was very strange. Because you are wrong and what you are saying is strange. The whole point is.... Rafa decides that at 50mins.... An uninjured player would contribute more than Kewell and so takes him off. If Kewell was injured when all 3 subs were already made, I am sure he would have stayed and battled on. Just like Carra, Gerrard, Sissoko, Cisse....
