Moose Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I think Reina, got that impression from the conversation he had with Benitez.
Guest AnfieldGrass Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Cisse looked too sore, so probably Nando. Would have been nice for Carra to get a crack.
chrisbonnie Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 i dont think Nando had the bottle, but Cisse looked like he said to Rafa that he`d take one, brave f*****, he was in bits
Big G Superhero Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 (edited) Rafa was having none of it. Cisse is anything but brave - he was a pussy with his cramp in extra time (compare and contrast to Momo Stevie and JC last year), Rafa was well f***ed off with him. Gloryhunting and confident in his ability to put a pen away, yeah, brave, nah. Edited May 14, 2006 by Big G Superhero

chrisbonnie Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Nando should have taken one of the first 4 anyway, letting Hyppia, a f***ing 10ft tall centre half take one instead of a striker is crazy, that shows Nando didnt want one, what a pansy

LFCNeil90 Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Because he's right footed? maybe Hyypia felt more confident about taking one?and to call cisse a pussy after he had that massive bandage round his thigh is ridiculous, he was never going to manage witht that on, you don't just get cramp, there's different places and different amounts of pain... my suggestion would be that cisse was worse off than carragher and Momo?

I suspect he was picking the fittest standing, hence Hyppia
Lee W Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Nando was on it. Your mate's a f'ckin genius by the way.
McBain Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Nando was on it. Would have been a Smiceresque final kick

Guest Sabre Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I love idiots having a go at Nando for not taking one of the first four. Irrespective of Elisha telling us that Nando was going to take the 5th, how can anyone criticise the lad when it's Rafa's decision? And taking Elisha's info into account, Rafa took the decision to give him the 5th, probably the most important penalty other than the 1st.
smithdown Posted May 14, 2006 Author Posted May 14, 2006 Go ed Nando lad! He'd have gone for some fancy chip as well and it'd have gone in off the crossie. It feckin would!

Repington Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I think that there was some research done a few years ago about penalty shoot-outs which found that the most crucial penalty was the third one; most pressure & most decisive.
