Bao Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 (edited) Souness. So far, I've always said that Gerrard was not where was Souness as a player but he's now just about got it. His place in that bracket is now acceptable. I don't lack this patting his name on his back (whatever happened to kissing the badge [souness wouldn't have bothered with any of that sh1 te]) but the boy done good. Well done lad. Lee W Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Is still only 25. He's a feckin' genius. I nearly had a coronary in the 90th minute when he buried that 35-yarder. Never thought he would eclispse Souness as a player, but by christ Carra might just be right..... We could have another Kenny here...
chrisbonnie Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 its safe to say if you have a debate about our best ever player down the pub, and you say Stevie, you wont get any funny looks, immense today, saved our f***ing bacon
Bao Posted May 13, 2006 Author Posted May 13, 2006 I think we're on the same wavelength - merge the posts if necessary.
alias75 Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 He is now a bona fide legend (if he wasnt already) although football is a team game and this season more than most has been a huge team effort today he was immense. Now we need 1 or 2 players like him to take the burden off him.
Benitez Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 this season has been the making of our very own super hero. He is just something else now. He's matured beyond belief this season as a player and as a personality. He's the perfect player and captain. He's brought together all the elements he had to his game, into one fecin amazing package.
Lee W Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 I think we're on the same wavelength - merge the posts if necessary. Who cares mate - the lad is a genius. And so are we for recognising it.
Romario Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Agreed. I never like saying blah blah is the best in the world etc. but Gerrard is simply incredible. He really is. I can't think of one player anywhere in the world I've seen that I'd rather in midfield instead of Gerrard. No one at all.Top top player. 10 out of 10.
Cooldude Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 (edited) My eyeballs popped out with that 40 yard strike Absolutely amazing, made the first and banged the other two, then took a perfect penalty He's matured this season as a player beyond imagination, he is now at his absolute frightening best Edited May 13, 2006 by Cooldude
Gomez Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 (edited) as I texted a mate at 90mins. 'Kinell. If we ever win the league with him as captain, we might have found a new greatest player ever. And considering I've seen Kenny, I can't quite believe I am entertaining that possibility. Edited May 13, 2006 by Gomez
Bao Posted May 13, 2006 Author Posted May 13, 2006 He's matured this season as a player beyond imaginationAnd as a captain

ZZZZ Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Some goal. incredible. only mins earlier when he hit the freekick into the stand I was saying, why is a man with cramping trying to score from thirty yards. I think when he scored the peno and truned around to walk back, you could just see the extreme confidence on his face as if to say, i scored but no need to celebrate as I knew i would.
Bootle Buck Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 I'm sorry to say it but even Kenny has to move over and make a place for the greatest Liverpool players ever. Stevie G.
