Just been on MoTD with Lineker. Knowledgable, gracious and a Liverpool fan. Give him a permanent job please beeb.

We should bombard the BBC with emails to hire him. Thought he was great to listen to, certainly more interesting than the rest of the shower they have.

Thought he great. A lot more entertaining than the dour Lineker/Hansen/Larenson team.

Lineker couldn't handle him having a bit of a laugh.

did you see pardew saying that if they had gerrard we'd be the underdogs.

christ.

I'm glad he thinks that - it means he's stupid.

Yep, I can see his team speech now: "just stop Gerrard - the rest are nothing, first division footballers at best". Div.

Good, it'll give Xabi space.

yeah, he said if they had Gerrard, then they'd be favourites.

Bit of a t***tish thing to say like, but there ya go!

Anyway, thought Trevor Brooking spoke really well, on the BEEB pre match programme as well. Very respectful to all, commented on how underrated Sissoko is, and actually has a clue about how both teams play as well, but Lineker cut him shorts when he was talking tactics!

I was amazed at that. He can't really think that can he ?

Kewell is going to rip Scaloni to bits.

Except the fact that he (and the whole panel) STILL believe Rafa has an inane hatred of playing two strikers upfront.

Indeed. It's not difficult to see why Brooking did a pretty good job when he took charge temporarily.

As for the mention of Reo Coker - He does seem quite an articulate character, as well as a very promising footballer.

Is this satire?

Please tell me that the last time that prick (Tarbuck) entered on anyone else's radar wasn't the "f*** Off Tarbuck" he got at Wemberlee. Have people really forgotten? Maybe a visit home to the U K isn't such a good idea.

I'm sorry to post again.

But is thread serious?

I think Reo-Coker would be a good addition to our squad. Intelligent footballer with talent.

I haven't forgotten anything, i have no idea what you're on about. Feel free to fill me in.

Given that I'm completely in the dark about whatever it is he has done to become a hate figure to you and perhaps others, my opinion of him based on being on motd was that he knew a lot about football, and talked well about both teams. Certainly worthwhile listening to compared with the other monkey pundits.

roy?

The BBC showed Chris Evans arguing with a steward before the game that he'd lost his ticket on his helicopter and that he should be allowed in anyway. It didn't look like they were letting him in, but I'm sure he weasled his way to a seat in the end.

he is a Tory c***

but I believe Paul Jewell once sais that he (Jewell) was the only LFC player to vote Labour in '83 - all the rest voted for Thatcher's b******s

Michael Robinson disputes that:

"Paul Jewell claimed he was the only Labour voter at Liverpool in the '80s. Is that true?

No.

Who else?

Me. Being a businessman, my father always wondered where he went wrong. But I believed in capitalism, only with social awareness. It was as though I waited all my life for Tony Blair."
