Nerik Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Just held a press conference. Translated: In a hastily organised press conference, Milan's Ukranian striker Schevchenko declared: " I want to leave. I can no longer hide this desire of mine from the fans. I have spoken to Berlusconi about this but no decision has been taken. I have no problems at AC Milan, my reasons for wanting to leave are personal."
Logic Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 (edited) Going to Chelsea? Personal reasons = bribed and threatened? Edited May 12, 2006 by Logic
matty Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Personal reasons = bribed and threatened? Seeing as three weeks ago he was desperate to stay....who knows?
Benzo-13 Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 He's the favourite player of Roman's son. Go figure.. 7 shirt for Chelsea next year..
The Hitman Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 He's not quite the Drogba-barging about striker though is he?
Benzo-13 Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 He's not quite the Drogba-barging about striker though is he? Lethal in front of goal though.
John Nada Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 It's a shame we can't go in for him. Ballack and him being added to Chelsea's ranks next year is terrifying...

I can no longer hide this desire of mine from the fans. I have spoken to Berlusconi about this but no decision has been taken. I have no problems at AC Milan, my reasons for wanting to leave are personal." it's not quite what he said though. 'It's useless to hide the facts. I was with the president and I we spoke about a lot of things. We also spoke about the possibility of changing teams. This is not a decision, we were only talking. I want to be clear, it does not regard my relationship with Milan. There is great affection for the club, the coach and my team-mates. The decision regards my family. I want to say to the fans that they have always been important for me. It is not even for the economic aspect, is absurd for me, it's almost hard work to speak about it. I have been at Milan for seven years, I have to decide well. I am not under pressure to make a decision, I am just talking in these days. There will be another press conference to clear everything up. I ask that rumours don't go around that don't exist, not to twist the facts, there are no problems with the club, the coach and team-mates, there never has been.' It's quite a big difference really. That's from the Milan website by the way. Depending on the translation it's possible to twist it lots of different ways.
Ginu Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Elisha mentioned in January that Chelsea would be getting the striker they've needed this summer who can't hit penalties lol i guess he was right
Spion kop Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 He's not quite the Drogba-barging about striker though is he?he's like drogba and crespo combined!
Eskimo Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Didn't Berlusconi let slip (yesterday I think) that he was leaving....?
Swipe Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Didn't Berlusconi let slip (yesterday I think) that he was leaving....? Told a group of kids (in front of reporters) that Shevchenko wanted to go to England.
Guest TanMan Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 If he signs for us I'll run round my block stark naked with a rose in my a*** crack and pair of my girlfriends high heel boots on
Guest Cardie Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 He's not quite the Drogba-barging about striker though is he? Doesn't matter, it's Romans signing not Mourinho's. Abramovich has been desperate to sign him since he took over at Chelsea.
Earl Hafler Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 Don't think he's quite the stiker he used to be. That poteen going down well , then ? If he signs for us I'll run round my block stark naked with a rose in my a*** crack and pair of my girlfriends high heel boots on If he signs for us i'll join you. Trouble is ( or maybe that's " relief is.." ) he's going to Chelsea.
stressederic Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 I don't even want to think about what Schevchenko is going to do to most of the defences in the Premiership. It's going to be horrific.

CarraLegend Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Don't think he's quite the stiker he used to be. You serious? The lad is absolutely incredible, check his scoring stats this season. However im not that arsed he's going there, it has no effect on the other 36 games we play.

That's from the Milan website by the way. Depending on the translation it's possible to twist it lots of different ways. Well the Milan website is obviously going to make it seem as least painful as possible until he makes a final decision, but what I translated earlier is what he said in the press conference and other sites are also quoting. Whether he said all those things at one stage or another and people are cutting and pasting to make it one continuous statement is another thing.
Falconhoof Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 A player like that is too good to end up at Chelsea. He needs a real stage, a great club.Milan, Juve, Roma, Barca, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Ajax, Bayern Munich Arsenal, Man United....all clubs with a history and a fanbase befitting such a worldclass player. Chelsea aren't so if he ends up there and says its for family reasons then he's a lying mercenary. There's only one reason to go to Chelsea ££££££££££££££££££££.
