Rory Fitzgerald Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 There is a lovely lady in our office whose husband is an (Irish) Hammers fan. She said that he cant wait for the final - she says she hasnt seen him like this ever (got married 3 years ago and seeing him for 4 before that). These hammers will be like us when we went to Istanbul, its a huge intangible factor if you ask me, though we should do it if we remain focused and fight the battle for the first 20-30 mins as they will be flying about on pure adrenalin !

Bootle Buck Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 I'm overly confident, which is beginning to worry me. I think we will absolutely t*** them.
Nebraska Red Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 not for many years have I been so calm ahead of a Cup Final involving Liverpool. i am not feeling overly confident, i just feel that the current team and management team have us firmly on the right path. our form, since the goalless barren spell, has been outstanding and the attitude of the players has been amazing. getting knocked out of the Champions League seemed to re energize the team and get it focussed again. we have become a team to be feared by the opposition and we are not worried by any team we come up against. if we play to our strengths , we will win.
Guest Kev Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 PMT is deffo kicking in, but it does around this time for every game
Guest jjasonuk Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 This is a good point, however I dont think our fans (me included) will let us down in Cardiff. I have watched both the Watford / Palace playoff games on TV where Palace were the favorites and The Watford fans basically cheered and sung their team to the win at Palace then continued at Watford. They were like us on a European night, really adding to the team. We must not forget that if the West Ham fans out sing and out party us on the day if will definately affect the players. Boost them and take 1/2 a percent from us. We should be the last fans in the world to underestimate the effect the fans have on their team. Sing loud and all game, as if we were the underdogs because they definately will be.,
Guest redmilky Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Ahhh come on. You're all just excited about the world cup really arent you?

smithdown Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 PMT is starting to steadily build up now. Will be a bag of nerves by kick off.
Owen1978 Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Not even slightly worried, this seasons performances have put my confidence in our team through the roof! We will be too much for them!
Guest RedDwarf Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I'm overly confident, which is beginning to worry me. I think we will absolutely t*** them. Is the right answer. Give the man a fiver
Stevie H Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 hammers are going to be well, well up for it. biggest game of their careers for most of them. in fact, marlon harewood might spontaneously combust. we need to be professional, up for it and get the job done.
wacko Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I'm worried that I'm not more worried.Me, too. I just find it hard to picture us not battering them.
charlie clown Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Me, too. I just find it hard to picture us not battering them. I do. But I find it hard to see us losing.
Mono Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I think they will take some grinding down. I've every confidence in the team Rafa will pick... He will have them well versed in their roles and what he expects of them... Our fans will help things along nicely too and remind them what's at stake.
RBM Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I just have this nagging voice in the back of my head that keeps saying or more like screaming WIMBLEDON. I'm not taking anything for granted
Nate. Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 (edited) I'm cacking it too now, I had a dream last night that Gerrard got sent off in the forth minute for a tackle that wasn't even a foul... Edited May 10, 2006 by Nate.
G Richards Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 It will be a great occasion. West Ham try and play good football and they will be up for it. Obviously we'll be heavy favourites, so we should win, but this is not an exact science... If we played West Ham 10 times I would guess we would win 8 and they would win 2 (assuming no draws allowed). Saturday will reveal all and I can't wait.
Guest Red Mist Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 I'm certain we'll win, not gonna crap myself like a girl. I predict a comfortable 2-0 win for the Reds.
