  1. The fact not one owner was present for Gerrard's last game spoke volumes for me.
  2. Best buckle up, it's going to be a long hard summer
  3. My aim in life is now to get a photo of Biscan with my Biscan.
  4. Very true.
  5. I don't blame Sterling for wanting to leave, but I do blame him for the way he's gone about it. His agent has played a blinder here, get the fans against you and it makes it easier to move. I believe a lot of the stuff has been engineered by his agent, and if you look back over the season you have to wonder why Sterling got a mid-season break. Was it to try and make him change his mind ? Also I can't believe that no matter how bad Sterling has been, he's been immune from being dragged off or dropped, is this another attempt to make him change his mind ? Why I said I don't blame him is because if you look around in our dressing room, where is the Gerrard ? where is the Torres ? where is the Suarez ? - I see a team of average players with one or two having a bit more ability.

  13. Dont you think Borini will start ?
  14. Will there be a few high profile casualties because of this deal. Can't play them all.
  15. Shelvey's problem is that Henderson, Downing and Adam got more games last season than they should of restricting Jonjo to a handfull.
  16. I think you are being a bit harsh on the lad with that summary.
  17. Shelvey will smash that notion
  18. I rate Shelvey very highly, he will take over from Gerrard eventually.
  19. Ah, fair enough, I misread what you meant.
  20. I would say more realistic thread. Sometimes you have to cut your losses and move on. We are having to take two steps back to go one forward but that will not always be the case.
  21. I still believe to this day that Alan Shearer had an awful lot to do with it. Kenny asked Alan what he thought and it looks like Shearer built him up to be the Geordie Messi.
  22. No-one unless they are a mega-rich fan with more money than sense is going to throw millions into this club and not expect nothing back in return. They gave Kenny a huge chunk and in he wasted it on average players with superstar salaries. Who can blame them for being more cautious this time around ? If we'd of got top 4 last season then things would have been so different because the return on their investment would have been evident for all to see and it would have gave them confidence to support the manager during another window. Rodgers is their first real appointment, Hodgson was already here, Kenny was forced upon them, in the way that he was the only person acceptable at the time. They gave him a small contract which looked more like a token reward for getting us out of the s***, and gave him a lot of money. Last season was dire, and I know we got to Wembley and we won the Carling Cup, but the league is the bread and butter and we failed badly. As a result of mismanagement over several years, Rodgers is now left with a re-building job that will probably take just as long if not longer to repair. But with him being FSG's first appointment I believe they will back him as much as possible, and I think we've seen this already with Skrtel staying and now more than likely Agger. They are backing the manager and in turn backing the club. Rodgers and FSG have taken over a vintage car that is in badly in need of repair, and not only does the car need repairing, the garage also needs upgrading or a new one, and it's going to take a long long time to sort one out never mind both.
  23. Referee's do favour Man United and it's been going on since the birth of The Premiership. Back in the 90's I was linesman at a Grantham United game in the then Southern Premier League on a cold Monday night. The referee for the evening was a linesman himself at Old Trafford only 48 hours prior. Anyway, I was first to arrive and whilst sitting there waiting for the ref and the other linesman to arrive, the door opened and in walked two kids, both under 10 in shiny new Man United kits. Their dad (the ref) then followed in. It transpired that the kits for the kids were presents given to them over the weekend. Before the game, the referee then went into his pre-match instructions and proceeded to tell us the pre-match instructions he received at Old Trafford. The referee's pre-match instructions at Old Trafford in a Premier League game back in the 90's was "Don't upset Fergie, I've been told my marks are low". I probably had the worst game ever as a linesman as all I wanted to do was stick my flag up his Fergie loving a***.
  24. I think of it as a penalty save, if the keeper saves it then he saves it, I dont think of it as rub of the green. The sitter I will give you.
  25. I don't like the quote "more days like this along the way", but I can kind of understand it. It can be deemed as realistic or pessimistic, I suppose it just depends on what side of the fence you are on how it is interpreted. Personally I would rather here this than the bile Hodgson came out with after that defeat at Everton, but I would still not rather hear it all. We never got one rub of the green which is unusual in a game, normally you get something.
