The question with all of this is can this happen, and the answer is yes. We are not saying it will deinitely happen, hence the question mark, but there is a strong possibility it can. I don't want to wait for 5-10 years down the line to say I told you so. I hope we will be proved wrong, but I can't sit back and do nothing while our club is being run like this. A season without the Champions League is a strong possibility with Man City and even Spurs doing well now. That is up to £30 million lost then. Ask a Leeds Fan after the Semi Final of the Champions League in 2001, that in 8 years time they would be playing Liverpool as a League 1 club in the Carling Cup. They would have laughed at you. Leeds missed out on Champions League qualification and had to sell Ferdinand. Yes we might have more commercial revenue now, but our debt is bigger. After Ferdinand was sold O'Leary and Ridsdale fell out, O'Leary was sacked. Just think back to the Klinsmann saga, it could happen with us. Venables then became manager. More players were sold including Woodgate when Venables was promised he wouldn't be sold. They then got relegated as more and more players were sold. Everyone thought they would come back up but financial burdens stopped them with going into administration tipping them over the edge and sending them down to League One. Hicks wouldn't do all that now would he. Just google Corinthians. Promised them a new stadium, sound familiar, and this didn't happen. Changed things at the club which angered their fans. All this was as part of a company that owned Corinthians, Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst, were there was infighting, again does this sound familiar. When the going got tough, Hicks retired from this company. This company sold Corinthians before it was too late for them, like with Ridsdale resigning as chairman. The new people in in both cases couldn't stop things from going downhill, particularly MSI at Corinthians who tried to stem the problem with throwing more money at the problem, but realised that didn't work. Ask a Corinthians fan after they won the World Club Championsip in 2000 that they would be relegated for their first time in their history in 2007. Hicks bought into Corinthians in 1999, as with buying us in 2007 he likes buying teams when they are close to a high. What happened in the middle of the season Corinthians got relegated (their season runs from April to December) they sold Mascherano and Tevez to West Ham despite Mascherano wanting to delay any transfer until January so he could help them stay up. Do Hicks and Gillett really care about what will happen to us or do they only care about what is in it for them? Will they invest their own money if we miss out on the Champions League to get us back in there the next season or will they try to cut costs. Do they love the club like we do that if things went a little bad they would stick it out and try to make things right or will they run for the hills and let someone else sort out the problem. There's a chance tonight to make a statement to other fans, the media, Hicks and Gillett and whoever else that we know what could happen to our club and we are not willing to sit back and let it happen. All these protests might not work, but I for one can not sit back debating if it will or will not happen. So for that reason I will make my voice heard and hope others do the same tonight because they do not care about our club, but we do.
