  1. Gerrard is done. He just does not have the legs to play in that position. He should be moved up or tried as a centre-half. Problem is we have enough of them! He can still ping a long pass, but that's about all. So sad to see a such dynamic player reduced to this.
  2. Lucas is NOT the problem.
  3. Midfield looks like it needs an extra body. Cant fault the application today so far though.
  4. We have a passenger in the middle of the park. Only see us scoring from set pieces.
  5. Sums up where I think we are at the moment. Hopefully this are just unfounded fears and Rodgers is the ONLY one who determines where any player plays.
  6. Maybe. but he's been one of our better players tonight. Gerrard should have cleared that easily.
  7. Gerrard should have headed that out mate.
  8. And Gerrard. He's sleepwalking through the game!
  9. Couldn't have put it better. Think only the deluded now can't see where we are right now. I think Suarez will be off in the summer and honestly I think we don't deserve him.
  10. Johnson Gerrard Allen

    Miki Roque

    RIP. MIKI. YNWA
  12. True. The other players are pedestrian, both in thought and execution.
  13. This. We have a midfield that is unbelievably ordinary; Gerrard apart. Henderson & Spearing are industrious but are very limited in their creative ability. Downing? Well the less said the better. He just makes the same repititive movements over and over again, he's so frustrating to watch!
  14. Understatement. Our midfield is absymal. I've avoided weighing in on the merits of the likes of Downing, Henderson and Adam but it should be clear by now that none of the three are good enough to be regular starters. Downing particularly is very frustrating because he is so predictable. Henderson is ok as a squad player NOT as a regaular,Adam well he's just not good enough to be the playmaker for a team like Liverpool.
  15. The squad may be mediocre but the selection is very puzzling. Why are we playing with five central midfielders? Surely, there must be at least one or two players in whole squad who are left or right sided midfielders even in the reserves/academy. When are we ever going to give the likes of Ince, Ecclestone,Pacheco are chance? I'm not saying they're good enough, but surely they deserve a chance. We keep fielding unbalanced teams especially away from home. Spearing(got nothing against him) before Pacheco, is it to protect Carra?
  16. No. He's just feeling his age. Think it's time someone realised he and quite a few others can't play games a few days apart.
  17. Just saying the same is looking as fluid anymore. The 3 three central defenders is'nt working, maybe Agger not been there is a factor.
  18. Sorry to say this, but I think Kenny has to be careful. Is the team really been picked on merit or based on names/reputations. The team has lacked the fluidity of his first few games in the last three weeks. Think some players dont really fit it into the passing philosophy we're supposed to be going back to.
  19. Really?! Stevie G wasn't marking his.
  20. Seems the chanting about his mum from away stand is getting to him, he's been shocking. Joe Cole too.

    Newcastle

Johnson has been our best player today, seems some folks already who they want to slate before the game even starts!
  22. Maybe, but Thierry Henry didn't look like a great player at Juve but he certainly became one at Arsenal. The point is even the most talented players if not fortunate to be under the right guidance or training might never attain their optimum levels. The same goes for every player with 'potential'. Has Pacheco been used or managed in the best way possible to get him to perform as best he can? Sadly the answer is no, and its been a recurring theme at liverpool for a while now. Virtually every other top ten prmiership club has had one or two youngsters coming through the ranks and establishing themselves in the first team or at least making a significant number of appearances in the premiership.
  23. Something very wrong.NESV talking about a youthful squad yet we seem to be ready to offload one of the most promising without him getting a decent chance to prove himself. Why would Hazard or any other young gun come here when our record with playing youngsters has been so abysmal in the past half a decade? Would Shawcross, Cahill, Turan or any of the other names we're been linked with have gotten a decent chance to progress under Roy or Rafa for that matter? Both of them don't have a great record when it comes to developing young talent, Roy is just different in that he doesn't seem to rate non-english talent at all. i think the fans too contribute with all this talk of having scousers in the team, yet wanting to be seen as one of the top clubsides in the world. To be one one of the best you have to get THE best wherever they may be from, i think that is a philosophy that the likes of Arsenal,Barca, Real and even Spurs have tried to imbibe. Rafa tried to do that at least with the academy but couldn't bite the bullet and actually play some of better ones. Roy is just a vestige of the past who doesn't belong in the modern game. Someone asked if Iniesta,Xavi or even Messi would have been given a chance here- I think we all know the answer to that!
  24. Now i KNOW RH is really feeling the heat! 5 CENTRAL midfielders, well maybe it'll work.
