  1. Spot on! With different owners it would have turned out differently...
  2. A talent like that should be winning championships!
  3. I understand we're speaking hypothetically but wow... how do I get to be privy on such decisions? Are you Rick Parry? Youth players aren't relevant to this discussion. Have you not seen the threads that show exactly how long it took Ferguson, Wenger, etc. to build their current teams and how their failures easily eclipse Rafa's in terms of volume as well as the time it took to build their current squads? Besides, many on your list were not "failures" they just didn't have the exact characteristics that Rafa needed to build his ideal squad. This misconception is getting old and is such a media generated myth completely contrary to the facts. It's a stick used to beat Rafa with every time we tie and lose.. You mean like Pepe, Carragher, Skrtel, Arbeloa, Alonso, Masch, Aurelio (when fit), Gerrard & Torres. Seems like a pretty good spine to me. Only missing some depth which requires proper funding and no d**khead Parry to screw up transfers. I'll bet that if Rafa wins the battle for control over transfers and we get owners with spending power equivalent to Man U or Chelsea you'll start to see the "right" players. Don't mean to be harsh on you but give Rafa time and more control and you'll see a Liverpool crushing machine emerge in a few years that will be just in time for the demise of Ferguson's dynasty.
  4. Why don't the true fans sitting near the booers tell them to f**k off?!? If the 30 people around them gave them sh*t for being pr*cks they might shut up.
  5. You mooted your own point there. A great example what consistent financial backing and trust in judgment will produce like Ferguson enjoys at United and what Rafa has never been given at Liverpool. So one or two others actually equals five world class players as well as getting the best out of Gerrard, Carragher & possibly Hyypia in spite of enduring ownership/board turmoil and nowhere near United's financial clout. I would also say that Arbeloa & Aurelio aren't too shabby either even though the latter has injury problems. A disgruntled, former player is a great source of credible information (see McManaman). Until I see transcripts or video of this conversation this is a moot point. Drenthe actually was the much better player (at least in that tournament - Babel's success was because of the play of Drenthe) and has faired about the same in a much weaker league. Just think, he could apart of this year's amazing Arsenal squad who is setting the league on fire with Wenger sure to get manager of the year . How else is he supposed to deal with the current d**khead owners (who are flushing this club down the toilet) and the impotent Rick Parry who leave him powerless to give 110% to his job? I think this had a huge part in us not winning against City. I don't understand people who pay good money to go and boo their own players. It defies logic! I would sell my first born to have grown up in Liverpool and to stand on the Kop. And if was lucky enough to have that opportunity I would sing until my voice was gone. The atmosphere against City was disgraceful and no wonder the players were edgy especially when they booed Lucas for his poor pass... he wears a Liverpool jersey and so we support him 110% so that he feels like he can conquer the world. YNWA! You are entitled to your opinion but go support a club that has a different motto and song.
  6. It takes a special player to fit into Rafa's system but it doesn't make the ones who didn't cut it bad players... just not right for this system.
  7. What's going on with Babel? Looks like he's trying to earn a loan/transfer.
  8. It all seems a bit dramatic at this point. I have a feeling it will be nothing.
  9. Seems like more playing time is allowing him to sync better with the regulars.
  10. That goal wouldn't happen in the premier league.
