I understand we're speaking hypothetically but wow... how do I get to be privy on such decisions? Are you Rick Parry? Youth players aren't relevant to this discussion. Have you not seen the threads that show exactly how long it took Ferguson, Wenger, etc. to build their current teams and how their failures easily eclipse Rafa's in terms of volume as well as the time it took to build their current squads? Besides, many on your list were not "failures" they just didn't have the exact characteristics that Rafa needed to build his ideal squad. This misconception is getting old and is such a media generated myth completely contrary to the facts. It's a stick used to beat Rafa with every time we tie and lose.. You mean like Pepe, Carragher, Skrtel, Arbeloa, Alonso, Masch, Aurelio (when fit), Gerrard & Torres. Seems like a pretty good spine to me. Only missing some depth which requires proper funding and no d**khead Parry to screw up transfers. I'll bet that if Rafa wins the battle for control over transfers and we get owners with spending power equivalent to Man U or Chelsea you'll start to see the "right" players. Don't mean to be harsh on you but give Rafa time and more control and you'll see a Liverpool crushing machine emerge in a few years that will be just in time for the demise of Ferguson's dynasty.
