It also has to do with where you possess the ball... getting the ball into the attacking half quicker (some would call this counter attacking but it's just a faster buildup) gets the ball to our danger players near the goal = more chances/goals. Why dick around with the ball in the back when you've got so much talent up top?

Tomorrow's headline: "Suarez chokes own teammate shocker"
-
And don't forget, by his own standards, Gerard had a mare... should have been subbed early in the second half
-
Careful, don't talk sense on here... you're being a little too objective in analyzing the problem. Don't you know, he drinks too much, and is lazy and isn't putting in a shift (blah, blah, usual sh**e quoted for said sh**e player of the month). Wasn't too long ago, you know, that very similar was being said about Lucas...

Don't understand the criticism of Adams... Opta stats say he had more shot assists than any player on the pitch. Is it his fault nobody is converting? How many shots did Suarez miss? Is he getting the same stick? We also kept a clean sheet so he didn't make any crucial defensive mistakes

Is the right answer... Is the wrong answer... his day & use will come!

Can you honestly have a serious discussion about tactics when you really have no idea why the decisions were made? Without knowing the mental & physical states of all players available is a little like criticizing the decor of a room without the lights on... a bit pointless and futile. If we had all been in the back room when decisions were made and had all of the information that the coaches had then these comments would actually hold water. IMO, its fine to speculate but when Kenny's judgement of how to influence the game is questioned it gets a bit ridiculous considering his record over the years.

And why do Henderson's pants say DC... Damien Commoli?

Its getting more and more blatantly obvious that teams are pressing the ball to his side because they know they can force him into hoofing it. Its also even more obvious that our mids are so much more effective when we have defenders who can either play a proper entry ball into the attacker's feet, work combinations out of the back or bring the ball out on their own. None of these things describes Carra's attacking play this year. I believe that he is partly responsible for the games when our mids are so ineffective because the ball is constantly sailing over their heads and then they are forced to defend for long periods which is a psychological drain.

That's exactly it... he hasn't & won't & now that we have Carroll hell will freeze over before he starts doing it. It has a major effect on whether or not we can challenge for trophies because he is a team leader and so others will follow his lead which kills our ability to break down defensive teams. Countless games this year he has the option to give it to the defensive mid who has space to turn & play into the feet of a target player and he blatantly ignores it and hoofs up to god knows where. Its time to thank him for his massive contributions and either sell or move him into a coaching role.

Can anyone honestly say that they truly believed, with the current squad being as paper thin as it is, that we would do anything other than what we have done under Kenny? If you did then you were smoking something good and you need to share it. You can't say someone like Mourinho would have come in and taken the league because he never would have touched the project in the first place... we were a club in a mire of s**t. Managers like him will only take on projects where they are virtually guaranteed success with the backing of millions and free reign on transfers. Kenny is the only man who can make the most out of the current situation, because of his love for the club, and when given the summer to spend he should be given 1-2 two years to produce trophy winning form. I believe the next two years will prove to be a justification of his hiring!

You could almost forgive Torres for leaving based on that alone!

We need game changers not defenders... a front 6 or so that inspire fear and whose movement and pace is unstoppable. Suarez & Carroll are a start and I would argue that our back 5 or six are solid if the front guys are keeping possession and banging in goals.

One of the only times I've really seen Gerard step in push away the opposition (Evra). Nice to see him step up as captain.

But think about what kind of service (or complete lack thereof) that he was getting...
