  1. There's no way Trent should have wage parity with Mo and Virgil. Too many games where he's crap like this.
  2. His poorer aspects are all concentration related.
  3. Elliott is far too slow and offers nothing. I'd sell him for definite in the summer. But... Elliott isn't playing. Proves my point. f***ing useless.
  4. At least we'll have an excuse for not spending on contract renewals and new players
  5. We really do need a much more effective option in the number 9 position. Whenever we have the ball in a wide position against a deep laying team (during the more patient build up) we look lost for how to get it to the goal. Salah is such a goal threat but has to do too much in that situation to get in to a clear shooting opportunity.
  6. Nah I know what you mean but I disagree. I'm glad we had the fight and scrap with the c****. Football is usually so sanitised, good to see them not just roll over at the d****ead behaviour
  7. God this stadium announcer is cringeworthy! For the thousands in attendance...
  8. Well played by Plymouth. We were terrible but not particularly bothered about going out tbh. Elliott was dreadful and a standout for all the wrong reasons. I know McConnell missed that chance but I do still like the look of him.
  9. He's still getting to the stage where his age and years of intensity is catching up on him. A team of our standing should replace him as he's approaching that period, not once it's been costing us for a season.
  10. Can't you just digress a little and talk about a well known Christmas truce to play football? And then for authenticity, pull out a TV and watch the match instead.
  11. Trying to replace Mo, Virgil and Trent for whatever we can generate from selling Nunez, Chiesa and Endo.
  12. It really is laughable. Whilst he was announced in March, Hughes didn't start till the beginning of June and Slot was appointed on the 20th May. Even if he had some involvement, it's a long time ago. The 3 contracts he needs to sort (not by his doing I know) are still not sorted, he failed to get Zubimendi over the line and despite Gravenberch's amazing form, we could do with reinforcing there (Zubimendi is now moving to Arsenal). The only signing we made for now (Chiesa) has been as much use as a paper weight - I do like him and think he's got talent. Mamardashvili could be a smart move but only time will tell, and we're likely to do nothing in this window. What the f*** are we supposed to be so grateful and full of admiration for?
  13. Reasonably fun game with the result clearly not important. For all Chiesa's obvious talent, must have been 3 times that Bradley was on the underlap and his pass was piss weak and short. Quansah is starting to give the impression that his great form was the blip rather than the slump unfortunately. Whilst not perfect, I do like McConnell. Good on the ball and gets in amongst it.
  14. I think the thing that is crap about it all so far is that for all the talk of Madrid and City being dreadful, it's going to have little to no consequence. It's basically just been a load of matches (fun to watch) that have very little meaning. The true push for the final hasn't kicked off yet and we're nearly in Feb.
  15. Loads of occasions already where Nunez is on the last man and wanting to have the ball played in. We just don't do it though. Can't help thinking that he'd do much better in a team that played to his strengths
  16. Does anyone have any contract details for Jonathan David?
  17. Apparently it's more of a focus on his full time than originally intended. Obviously lots from last season though.
  18. I'll watch this later but saw this pop up on my feed and thought it worth sharing
  19. Ahh... Your instincts were telling you something looked fishy...
  20. Fish puns are definitely s***. Especially in the transfer thread where it deceives you into thinking something has happened. Anyway... Season roundup according to ChatGPT: Liverpool's 2024-25 season has been nothing short of a whale of a time! Under new manager Arne Slot, the Reds have been making waves in the Premier League, currently sitting at the top of the table. The team's fin-tastic form is highlighted by their recent 2-0 victory over Brentford, where Darwin Núñez netted two stoppage-time goals, proving he's quite the catch. Mohamed Salah continues to be the shark in the box, leading the league in goals and keeping defenders in a state of perched anxiety. Despite facing some choppy waters with contract discussions involving key players like Salah, Van Dijk, and Alexander-Arnold, the squad remains anchored and focused on their title pursuit. With a seven-point lead over Arsenal, Liverpool is in a prime position to reel in the Premier League trophy. As the season progresses, the Reds will need to avoid any floundering performances to ensure they don't let the title slip through their gills. But with their current momentum, they're certainly the big fish in the league's pond. In summary, Liverpool's season has been a fin-tastic journey, and fans are hoping it concludes with a net gain of silverware.
  21. This is the bit that doesn't make any sense to me. He's the type of player that wants the ball progressing quickly and he actually makes loads of good runs. We take too long for him and then he struggles to stay on side. In the right system he'd look loads better than he has done.
  22. Absolute s***e that. Passing all over the place and no attacking threat at all
  23. couldn't make this s*** up! We've been s*** all game but had to be him didn't it?!
