Isnt there a common denominator to this. A back four of Sakho, Lovren, Clyne and Flannagan kind of works even with a sh*t keeper. Bring Skrtel into the mix and everything goes to pot. I have no f*cking idea what every manager we have had sees in Skrtel. He is so sh*t it is unbelievable.
No doubt he can be inconsistent but his inconsistency has reduced significantly. He tends to have more good games now than sh*t ones and his consistency will continue to improve. The one thing with Coutinho is he always takes risks which means if it does not come off, he looks sh*t. Lallana is consistent - consistently sh*t.
From the Beeb website: "A bright start from the home side in the second half as Leandro Bacuna forces Simon Mignolet into a save. It was easy but the Belgian still made a hash of it, spilling it into the six-yard box, but with no Villa striker gambling, he is able to pounce on it. I'd be very nervous as a defender playing in front of him." Sums up our defensive woes.
True. Given how utter sh*t our defence has been, it cannot be any worse if we put Illori in there who by all accounts has put on a better showing in his limited outings than Sakho, Skrtel and Lovren have for the best part of 3 seasons.
He has a calmness about him and never looks flustered either when he has the ball or when is defending. Contrast this with Sakho and Lovren where it appears that a disaster is around the corner. Needs to play in a few league games.
True and they are not afraid to take risks. People will go on about Smith's positioning for their first goal but he can develop positioning and awareness through training and experience. In Moreno's case, he cannot develop a brain no matter how much he trains.
Given the amount of games we've had, do you think there is sufficient time to train them to deliver a good set piece given that they have had 3 and a half years training on how to take a sh*t set piece? Surely this is due to lack of intelligence on the players part. I am not sure how you can train a player at what specific moment to release the ball. I think our set piece woes are 70% down to inability of players to execute and 30% due to training.
Rubbish. As soon as the ball bounced, Vardy hit it without even looking at the keeper. It was one of those, where 9 times out of ten, it goes into the stands. He just hit it perfectly. I am not a fan of Mig, but he did nothing wrong on that one.
