As I understand it the loan deadline will remain open for a few weeks. I have heard rumours that Rafa is looking at a number of loan players one of which is Saviola. Could be wrong, apologies if I am.

Well said my man, well said.

Lets get a petition together to sack Rafa. After all that is the general consensus of this forum. Rafa is clueless, not a winner, does not have a winning records, is not good at man-management, is too defensive, has lost the plot etc. I am sure we will find an attack minded manager to start our re-building all over again while the Mancs walk away with number 19, 20, 21 etc.

When he took over Ronaldinho was already at the club. Not only that the likes of Victor Valdes, Xavi, Iniesta and Puyol had broken through and were beginning to establish themselves. Messi was already in the bag in the youth team. He inherited a team that had some good core players in the form of Petit, Overmars and Kliuvert as well as the afformentioned Ronaldinho. He went out and bought Etoo, Deco, Marquez and Ludovic Guily for a combined £40m+ in his first season. How the f*ck is that comparable with what Rafa inherited when he took over and the budget he was given in his first season or even subsequent seasons. F*cking muppet.

Yeah four and half years is a long time given that he started with a complete sh*tpile of a squad. It took Fergie 6 years to win the title and 5 years before he even won a trophy. But f*ck it, that doesnt matter. Sack Rafa.

Whatever you think about Rafa at the moment, the guy has balls!

Not sure I agree with you totally. There have been numerous occassions where he has made a change which has had a positive effect on the game. Agreed that he makes mistakes but every manager does. I doubt Rafa just looks at the fitness of the player, he also looks at the impact of the player and how they fit in to the system. Yesterday both Stevie and Torres never really got going. With Chelsea up next Rafa had to make a decision. In the end I think he made the right one. I expected us to be challenging for the league and we are. Yesterdays performance was definitely an improvement over previous performances. Sundays will be even better. Bring it on. -
Keane's had 20 games to prove it and therefore deserves to be judged on that. Torres has been injured for long periods of this and is only feeling his way back to fitness. And he banged in 33 goals last season. But you are right, judge him on his last two games.

When we didnt have the pressure of going for the league. By the end of Feb we could be out of the FA Cup and the League and possibly the Champions League.
-
The impact this will have on our league form and Champions League will be huge. It will be a real test of character and I just dont think the current bunch have it in them to bounce back. Every Liverpool team over the last 10 years has not had the b*lls to bounce back from big setbacks. The current bunch are no different. Contrast this with Man U yesterday, they went a goal down early on and then came roaring back.
-
Save the abuse guys. It is just my opinion that I cant see us coming back from this latest setback. I just dont think we have enough characters in the team. Any other season I couldnt give a f*ck about the FA Cup. But given what has happened over the last few games, this is a huge game and we are doing a damn fine job of completely f*cking it up.
-
Our season is over if we lose this. Cant see us getting back into this the way things are looking.
-
Happy with that team apart from Dossena. Cant understand Rafa wanting him to play today. He's not kicked a ball for over a month for f*cks sake.

This thread is f*cking depressing. Come to think of it this forum is f*cking depressing. I think the frustration of 18 years without a league title has really built up to the point where the f*cking lid has well and truly come off. I really cant understand it, we are level on points with Utd and 2 ahead of Chelsea. We played a derby yesterday, sh*t like that happens. Does it mean we are out of the title race, does it f*ck. I also dont buy that this is our best chance of winning the league. Whats to say that if we dont win it this season then we wont win it next season. Being involved in the title race will give us valuable experience. Not only that the players will have been together for another year which will only improve their understanding. We are not that far away from winning the league. If you cant accept Utd winning number 18 and equalling our record, support another team.

I've got a nasty feeling its going to end up 1-1 today.
-
Hmm. But they look a lot more solid than us. We seem to be running out of gas.
-
Utd will win the league no doubt it after today. We would struggle to do what they did today i.e. nick a 1-0 win. They've had five 1-0 wins in their last 8 league games with the goal coming late in the game in each of those wins. Unbelievable. That is the difference between runners up and champions in my opinion.
-
Thats pathetic. Really pathetic.

Mine was to be putting up a real challenge for the title, which we are. And in the process we have moved ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal. That in my view is progress and has exceeded my expectations. When Rafa took over we were miles behind the other Big 3. Now we've overtaken those two. Its only a matter of time before we overtake Scum. I think the fact that Scum will equal our league title is getting to people and is possibly clouding their judgement which becomes evident after every bad result. Not me, not by a long mile. F*ck them if they match our league haul. We'll get it back. Regardless of how this season ends, I am chuffed with Rafa. This is the season where he has made his stand. He's got us to the top of the table, moved ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea. This is the season where Rafa stood up to Ginsoak and gave as good as he got. Let the press and sundry doubt us, f*ck em. We'll prove them wrong, i'm sure of that.

lets have a sense of perspective here....
Malcolm X replied to floyd the barber's topic in Liverpool FC
As they did against Newcastle and against Bolton and on and on... Yes it doesnt work out sometimes but so what. Rafa has done a fantastic job upto on a shoestring of budget compared to Mancs and Chelsea yet we are above them both. Scolari took over a squad built by Maurinho and Grant and the squad that won the league twice and finished runners up twice to Man Utd. Yet we are above Chelsea. Utd won the league and CL and paid £32m for Berbatov as well as £16m for two Serbian guys. Yet we are ahead of them in the league. Both the Chelsea's and Utds squads have been assembled a lot longer than ours yet we are matching them step for step. Rafa needs to be applauded for the job he has done not be castigated everytime a result doesnt go the way we expect. Get behind the team and enjoy the ride. You'll Never Walk Alone. -
Utd will win the league. They sneaked a 1-0 win in the 84th minute whereas we hit the post and the crossbar in the last 10 minutes. Thin line between success and failure and unfortunately we are on the failure side.
-
For me Rafa is a master at mind games. I still cant forget his comment 'Mr Abramovich is the most important man at Chelsea' which really got under Maurinho's skin. That day showed that you cant f*ck with Rafa.
-
Boll*cks. Souness was class no doubt but Stevie G is on a new level when it comes down to describing a complete midfielder.
-
We've been saying that for half a season and it hasnt happened yet!!!
-
'The action was towards the Preston player rather than the Liverpool player' - commentator describing the tackle on Alonso. Conveniently forgetting that Chaplow had his foot raised when he went for Alonso. C*nts.
-
Mellor will be threat. We need to make sure he stays quiet.
