  1. I think he was which is why he started struggling after an hour.
  2. I posted this on another thread but i'll post it on here as it is more appropriate here. Someone on here said a while back that if Torres had been available to us all season we would have been at least 5 points better off. That argument was quickly shot down. I think the last two games have shown how crucial Torres is to our chances of silverware what a difference a fit Torres would have made to our title chances and our position in the league. The strange thing is he is still not fully fit.

  4. Just like Chelsea dominated possession at Stamford Bridge and created f*ck all. Either way, we were by far the better side and fully deserved the win. We were never in trouble as you put it in your post.
  5. Did you guys know that this is the first time Utd have lost when Christanio Ronaldo has scored at Old Toilet. We seem to be making a habit of breaking records.
  6. But they were fairly routine saves from long range shots. I can only think of one or two saves where Reina was stretched. Utd domintated possession but didnt really trouble us that much.
  7. Excuses are coming out already, classic quote from Chris Waddle: "Liverpool did a very, very professional job here today, but United looked very leggy, especially near the end. They need a rest this week, put their feet up and come back stronger. All these games have caught up on them." They have only played around 6 or 7 games more than us as they mostly used their reserves for the league cup. Arent they supposed to have the biggest squad?
  8. The funny thing is that our fullbacks were criticised earlier in the season for being sh*t, and that included Fabio and Aberloa. I never doubted any of them and that includes Dossena.
  9. Agree with that. Also it comes down to expectations. No one really expects Everton or Villa to break into the top 4 let alone win the league. The expectations at Liverpool Football Club are far greater compared to the Everton's and Villas. When you are not expected to achieve anything, you tend to be more relaxed and play with less pressure compared to when you are expected to produce the goods. Villa's recent form compared to early season form is a testament to that. Rafa, and any manager at Liverpool for that matter, faces pressure of not having won the league for 19 years and is then expected to produce instant results.
  10. That is going a bit too far. There is no doubt Wenger is a fantastic manager, lets not hide from the fact. He has yet to win the CL to cement his place amongst the true greats but his record in this league cannot be disputed. However, I feel to compare Rafa to Wenger is completely unfair. For a start the landscape in the league was completely different when Wenger took over compared to what Rafa faced. The game has moved on leaps and bounds and I think we would all be best served by not belittling Wenger's achievements but at the same time to not use Wenger's record as a stick to beat Rafa with. We have got a really unique manager and we need to appreciate and cherish every minute of it.
  11. I was waiting for that to come up, surprised it took someone so long to come up with this.
  12. You really are thick and suffer from memory loss, thicko.
  13. Spot on. Some of us have been trying our best to make that point but all we get as a response is 'but this season he wasted £20m on Robbie Keane.'
  14. I have said it before and I will say it again I think he is the greatest player that has ever played for us. His all round game puts him at the top. Kenny was unbelievable behind the front man but Stevie can dictate the game anywhere on the pitch. If he played at right back he would be one of the best right backs in the world. Sadly for most he will never be considered the greatest player to play for us until he wins a league title.
  15. Apologies, Hodgson maybe but not sure about the others. I doubt uncle bob and M4ttster seem the type to attend games, the level of cluelessness is a testament to that.
  16. Top performance that. Absolutely bossed it. A special mention for Babel. He did well today and if he keeps up the good work he may yet have a career. And finally, I wonder why all the Rafa haters are conspicuous by their absence (uncle bob, M4ttster, Mikey, Hodgson etc). It probably has something to do with us winning 4-0.
  17. I am very nervous about tonight.
  18. Or maybe that Rafa was not allowed to shop for a striker until Keane was sold. Rafa may well have lined up a replacement but an incompetent CEO may have prevented this from happening.
  19. Ah yes, bought a lot of quality players. Let me see: Forlan - £7m Veron - £28m Barthez - £7.8m Henize - £7m Alan Smith - £7m to name a few. The jury is still out on Nani and Anderson. Also lets not forget that it took Ji-Sung Park 3 seasons to actually look like a decent player. But you are right, Ferguson always signs quality.
  20. What the f*ck do you what Benny was like in training. He put in a full shift on Wednesday. For all you know he could have been knackered and there is a strong chance he could have got injured. It is very interesting that you were nowhere to be seen after Wednesdays match. Any opportunity you get to have a dig at Rafa, you will take. You my friend are a grade A c*nt.
  21. Ah yes, the wise man speaks.
  22. No it hasnt. They were sh*t before the injuries and are sh*t after them. No change there then.
  23. Oh f*ck me that is a whopper. A little???? Torres has not had a consistent run of more than 5 games. He has been out of the team for almost 3 months and you call that little?? Gerrard has been out of the team for an equivalent of a month and a half, and you call that little?? Skrtel was out for 2 months, and you call that little???? Arbeloa also has been injured at various times this season
  24. Well done, my man, well done. Absolutely amazed by the amount of overreaction. It was an awful performance but lets leave it that. In no way does it negate the fantastic performances this team has produced this season. It will have a bearing on what happens next in that Rafa will not allow another performance of this nature. This was a one-off. Also have people forgotten how unlucky Rafa has been with injuries. F*ck me, give the guy a break.
