Except Houllier spent most of that season in hospital. I remember most people questioning at the time how much of that points total was down to GH and that some of it was down to 'lets do it for GH' attitude as he was in hospital.

Who have not had the chance to play together for 60%-70% of our games this season so far. So on that front they've had the upper hand.

GH was never a great manager and will never be considered as one. Rafa is a fantastic manager with the potential to be great. Time will tell whether he achieves that status. To speak about Rafa and GH in the same breath is criminal let alone comparing their records.

Its ok let him have it, he needs something to cling on to back up his anti-Rafa stance.

Because one of the club's, City, has spent £176 million in 2 seasons which is equivalent to what Rafa has spent in 4 seasons. The other, Tottenham, had an established squad and has spent £123 million over the last two seasons which is roughly what Rafa has spent over the last 3 seasons. And despite all that I am convinced we will overtake both City and Spurs for 4th spot.

Seriously guys, this is the first real bad season (and I am still convinced he can turn it around) he has had in his time here. Is he not allowed to have an average season for once? And for those with short memories and short fuses, he has twice accumulated 80+ points and in other seasons that would have won the league. Unfortunately for Rafa Chelsea and Utd have set freakishly high standards. Without a substantial investment in the squad it will be difficult to overtake them. Maybe Rafa is not a miracle worker, maybe just maybe, he is a fantastic manager on par with Ferguson, Wenger and Ancelotti

To be honest I have only been on this forum for the last 2-3 years so I cant comment on what he said back then. However, I have not been impressed by any of their recent posts. There is no doubt Rafa has made mistakes but Kev and Ant seem to think he has done nothing right in his time here even going to the extent of belittling all his achievements to date. They are quite happy to stick the knife in when things are not going well but are not willing to give credit to Rafa when the team is doing well. I am sorry but that is just bullsh*t. And please stop the Houllier comparisons. Houllier's record in the league maybe similar to Rafa's (and I dont believe for one second it is) but Rafa has completely overshadowed him in Europe.

I dont mind if they have different opinions as long as they talk sense. Those two talk sh*te 99% of the time.
