  1. Some fair points you make and some not so fair. However, the key questions we need to ask are: This season excepted, have Rafa's last 5 seasons at this club been a complete failure when considering what he has been up against season after season? And do you think any other manager could have done better than Rafa under the same circumstances? Completely agree this season has been sh*t and Rafa has to take the lions share of the blame and even the net spend argument cannot over up some of the sh*t that we've seen this season. But surely, surely he deserves one more season for the good work he has put in over the last 5 seasons?
  2. I think Rafa should quit and stick two fingers at the club hierarchy and certain section of our supporters. If I had to constantly live through speculation over my future for nigh on three years and deal with certain supporters that cannot see the wood from the trees, I would do the same thing.
  3. Here's how it should pan out. The score is 0-0 deep into injury time. The ball falls to Lampard outside the area. His shot hits Carra in the chest, the ball goes in the air and when it is coming down Carra tries to head it clear but instead heads it straight onto his boot. The ball ricochet's off Carra's boot onto Soto's head which in turn deflects it to Insua. Insua tries to clear but instead hits it towards Johnson who inadvertently heads it to Reina's feet. The ball deflects off Reina's boot into the net. The goal is credited to Lampard who goes wheeling away in celebration.
  4. But this is just one season in isolation. Some people on here seem to believe that Rafa has been awful for the past 5 seasons and will continue to beat that drum until he leaves. Most knowledgeable fans my a*se.

    Lucas

We could get at least 10 million for him which is by my calculation 66.7% improvement.
  6. The fact that we are mentioning Torres and Messi in the same thread is a testament to how good Torres is. But as good as Torres is, my vote goes to Torres. No shame in coming second to a person who could well end up being the greatest player of all time.
  7. Rafa would be murdered if he did that.
  8. The nonse scores.
  9. I beat you to it with my comment on Rafael.
  10. Rafael makes Insua look like Maldini. The problem now will be that the ref will give every decision to Utd as he just did with that Ferdinand tackle.
  11. I vote for Van Gaal as our next manager.
  12. Or a boiled egg in a microwave.
  13. Completely agree. Rafa cannot get away blame free this season. Yes there have been factors working against (c*ntish owners, injuries) but he has made his fair share of mistakes probably more so than in previous seasons. His mistakes have stood out like a sore thumb in this cr*ppy season. But this has been the first real sh*tty season during his 6 years here. I for one am willing to give the guy one more chance based on his record over the last 5 years.
  14. If Gerrard is getting baffled and p*ssed at Rafa's substitutions, he can go f*ck himself. On what basis can he or any of us claim to know more than a man who has outwitted and outthought some of the best managers in the world. That type of reaction is unacceptable even if the manager was someone as inept as Fat Sam. Gerrard should cast his mind back to the Merseyside derby a few years back when he was substituted whilst the game was evenly poised at 1-1. Lucas came on and won us the game. I know it has been mentioned on here but we ended up playing much better when Torres was substituted.
  15. The last bit is spot on. Rafa is paying for ineptitude of previous LFC managers when the reality is that he is the best manager we have had in 20 years (yes that includes Dalglish). However, you would not think that was the case by reading some of the posts on here.
  16. Or maybe the prospect of losing Alonso and Mascherano in one transfer window with little time left to replace them was a bit too much for Rafa. And who is to say that Rafa did not try to convince Alonso to stay for at least one more season?
  17. That is just bullsh*t and a convenient stick to beat Rafa with. There is no doubt Rafa tried to buy Barry but it was assumed Rafa was going to sell Alonso despite Rafa making no comments to that effect. Its funny how Alonso is blameless in this whole situation. Was he not the c*nt that handed in a transfer request this last season when Real Madrid came knocking on the door? He seems to get a free pass because he said his reason for leaving was because Rafa 'tried' to sell him in 2008.
  18. Or god forbid its possible they had to be sold to fund the purchase of other players. No you are right, it was evil Rafa's fault he sold them.
  19. No but when he knew he was going to be sent off, Babel should have walked up to Luisao as if he was going to shake his hand, and instead should have given him a right cross, left uppercut, right uppercut and a kick in the b*lls to justify the sending off.
  20. It could be another Van Basten situation. Having to retire at 28/29. It kills me when c*nts like Dogsbreath get so much protection yet Torres has to be literally stamped in the face a dozen times before he gets a free kick.
  21. Were you watching the right f*cking game???? What.......the.............f*ck?
  22. But with 15 against 10 it was always going to be impossible to win.
  23. Goal 1-0 Ibrahimovic
  24. We need to at least give him a run of games on the right before completely writing him off. I still think he has a lot to offer.
  25. Yeah he's two footed and he can't pass for sh*t with either foot.
