  1. They thought that last season when they bought Ozil. Look where that ended up.
  2. Or maybe it was living in London vs Liverpool. The choice of sampling the delights of London vs Liverpool for a multi millionaire footballer.... Hmm that is a tough one.
  3. I rest my case.
  4. Aye Wenger is really lacking firepower. It's not like he has a weak midfield or defence that gets overrun by big teams. Oh wait.....
  5. I think Bliki is a psychopath. Maybe not but he sounds like one. I could be wrong. I am not a psychologist but I am basing my analysis on the fact that he called our best player a psychopath. So he is close to being a psychopath. I am happy to have a discussion on this.
  6. Record at Real: Played 190 league games, scored 107 goals with 45 assists Record at Napoli: Played 31 league games, scored 17 goals with 7 assists.
  7. I would see if we can get Higuain from Napoli. He is a hybrid player who can create and score goals. Might be a good compliment to Sturridge. Not a replacement for Suarez but it will fill a void and help strengthen elsewhere.
  8. Agreed we would be baying for blood. But here is the thing. Chelsea and Scum would be lobbying hard against a domestic ban. They have the advantage of having the press on their side. That is huge. We have never had that advantage. He is an idiot. God knows what goes through his head for him to do this. Regardless, we should stick with him. Rodgers needs to work his magic similar to Fergie did for Cantona. In some ways I think the 4 month ban may work in our favour. Imagine the pressure and distraction for the squad if he played at the start of the season. Things will have boiled over (not completely) by the time he returns. He would be wise to use this time to really think of his actions and how the club have stuck with him.
  9. I cannot help thinking the f*cking media witchhunt was the driving force behind this just like they were during the Ivanovic incident. I mean the likes of John f*cking McEnroe and Andy Murray were throwing their opinion about. I mean what the f*ck do they know about football. F*ck of Fifa and f*ck off Blatter.
  10. I think Fifa will give him a 10 match international ban and a suspended 1 year worldwide ban if he has a similar misdemeanour. That should massage the media's (British mainly) c*cks.
  11. I am not defending Suarez's bite but English media and pundits are bloody hypocritical and biased. There have been a number of offences committed just as bad if not worse than what Suarez did but they get overlooked because it is not done by a pesky foreigner. It can be argued that what Duncan Ferguson, Roy Keane and Eric Cantona did on the football field are worse than what Suarez did today. Having said that, not sure what goes through his head when he does something like this.
  12. Aye Teri Hatcher would have done a better job than Jagielka and Cahill.
  13. I think we should also go for this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzXWoFfI-mY
  14. I am not sure why people think 8 is too many. We need a bloody stronger squad. Relying on Aspas, Moses and Alberto f*cked us this season. It is not like we will need them to jump straight into the first. We have a strong first XI. We can give the other guys time to settle. Lallan, Lambert and Lovren come from the same team. Sanchez will be able to start pretty much right away. That leaves Moreno, Shaqiri and Can to find their feet. Vorm is a squad player and will probably only play in the cups. Or would people prefer to say 'We should have strengthened our squad, effing FSG'
  15. No but you need a mix of exciting and solid. We need to build on the spectacular players we have. If you remove Aspas, Alberto, Moses, Cissoko and replace them with Moreno, Lambert, Shaqiri and Lallana. I think that is a massive upgrade and plenty to get excited about.
  16. I think the following transfer business would be awesome: Lallana - £25m Lambert - £4m Shaqiri - £15m Can - £10m Sanchez - £20m Vorm - £4m Lovren - £15m Moreno - £16m Total spend - £109m Sales: Agger - £10m Lucas - £10m Borini - £11m Aspas - £3m Alberto - £4m Enrique - £4m Reina - £5m Total sales - £47m Net spend - £62m. I'd have that. What a summer that would be.
  17. I would prefer Sanchez. Stronger, quicker and just as lethal if not more than Pedro.
  18. I think we will get Real Madrid, Juventus and Steaua Bucharest. Ideal group would be: Us, Porto, FC Basel and Anderlecht.
  19. It has been mentioned in quite a few places that we have around 60 to 70 million plus sales.
  20. Total of 11 players will be sold (including Hodzic) which should raise around 34m (give or take 4m). Add that to our transfer budget of 70m gives a cool 100m to really bolster our squad with real quality.
  21. I am sure it was started with good intentions but the potential penalties and actions included in the rules are a joke. It almost seems like they wanted to send the message that they were trying to level the playing field but then either bottled it when it came to imposing penalties or did not really give this aspect any serious thought.
  22. FFP rules are a frickin joke. They are simply a tool for UEFA to make more money from the big clubs by imposing fines that are insignificant to the likes of City, Chelsea, Real, Barca, PSG.
  23. In the ME, Al Jazeera Sports always broadcasts LFC TV showing all of LFC's games. We have a massive following and that will have increased after the football we played this season.
  24. The FFP rules are an absolute joke. Look at the current dithering by UEFA with regards to City and PSG. If UEFA really wanted a level playing field, FFP should have harsher penalties i.e. transfer window ban and a salary cap. All City will get is a warning and £50m fine which means eff all to City. Sheikh Mansour earns more than that in an hour. That Etihad sponsorship deal was an absolute effing joke. Yet neither the FA or UEFA batted an eyelid. It was like 'We know the deal is dodgy but we can't be ars*d to do anything as long as it City can meet the FFP rules'. UEFA would do well to follow the examples followed by the NFL and NBA in the US. Over there, they have a salary cap. Anyone exceeding the salary cap will have significant penalties as well as not being able to sign anyone.
  25. They won because we let it slip more than them doing anything to win it despite them having the most money, the biggest squad and the highest paid footballers. They can enjoy it as much as they want but it is very artificial. They know they got away with it. We win/draw against Chelsea and there results would have been different, that I am sure of. Brendan will prove to them that it is not all about money. There is such a thing as heart and soul, class and doing things the right way. City fall short on all three.
