You just have to wonder why we can't just buy 1 further striker, even on loan Sure Gudjohnson has been sold by Barca to Monaco for 2 million? Personally I think the rest of our squad is okay, but just 1 more recognised striker is really needed.

Agree, also people always,always forget that in the modern game, you hardly ever finish the game with the same 11 players that started and therefore there is usually 14 players involved in 1 game. As midfielders and strikers usually get changed/rested/subbed, it would be more likely that we could have someone like Owen (shudder) as an impact player, i.e. someone who comes on for 10-15 and plays in lesser games/cup games and the games that Torres/Gerrard are injured/rested etc. Im certainly not a fan of Michael Owen the player and just want him to stay away from the club, but if we need an "English" player for no fee and the deal is right and free's up money for more important players such as a Silva/Attacking Midfielder then I would reluctantly be ok with it......I wouldn't welcome the constant media attention though

We haven't maximised our contracts with Carlsberg for many a year and have really missed out on bigger deals that would have extended our budget for players. Its long overdue that we move into a partnership with another company. We need to maximise our standing in the game and get the best deals available.

Definitely think its Silva rather Villa I think we will definitely go all out to get Silva and will sign him! It will just be announced and will surprise us all. ....just wondering does anyone think that we could surprise everyone and get Tevez aswell....are we the "other club" they were talking about this morning?

Everyone on about Arbeloa as being our weakest link - has anyone thought of looking over onto the left side of the defence where we have: 1)Youngster breaking through (Insua) 2)Player doesn't play every game (Aurelio) 3)Player doesn't play every game (Dossena) Arbeloa is our 1st choice Right Back, but is considered by some as our weaklink, but who exactly is our 1st choice left back, eh?

I never want to see him as a Liverpool player again. Not based on anything other than, he made us think he was going to stay and then left us in the lurch in order to further his career. All this talk of 20-30 million for Tevez? United haven't paid any transfer fee of that much for him. I believe its something like 2million a year plus his wages. The Tevez deal will be a special kind of deal and not a straight 20million. He is treated completely different than other players and I think people should remember this when thinking of Rafa's transfer kitty etc. Rafa could end up selling one of our current players for 6-8mand that fee could pay for Tevez for 2 seasons i.e. because its a "loan" type of deal wit Tevez.
