Youtube is not the best way to judge Riera. But here's some He's skillful, but not too selfish. And he's 188 cm tall (6'3 ft, i think), so he's more likely to succeed in PL apart from eg Silva.

We have Masch > Senna, Xabi = Xabi, Gerrard >= Xavi, Liverpool Torres > Spain's Torres. And Spain does not have real wingers. With Yossi =< Silva, we need another Iniesta level AM. Why can't we play the way Spain does - in terms of quality? Spain would beat PL's top teams. P.S. Alonso was good yesterday, having Senna beside and behind. Well, better than Barry for England, who couldn't hold midfield and allowed czechs to strike from outside the box.

Well, the manager could choose a player with similar footballing abilties but one with better reselling options. If Barry fails no one would ever buy him even for half of price we are supposed to pay.

I would say that 3position guy is Silva (AM/LW/RW) but he's spanish. Could be Downing/Barry. Someone posted Quaresma interview here before. And he confirmed we approached him. That means we should have 20-25m available. (But that could well be Keane money) Well, I'd love that player being Walcott.

Xabi is great, Voro was great in Germany - playing alongside Berbatovas far as I remember. Him and Xabi have pressure on them and have something to prove now. So I believe they are to step up. Xabi's already done that maybe. So forget Barry, buy a winger.

If Rafa wanted to replace Xabi he would just swap him for Barry (+Finnan may be). MON would do that eagerly. Right? So something else going on.

I believe, Rafa understands that it's now better to keep Xabi and stop chasing Barry. But Barry still could be useful. As a smokescreen for someone "special" (as far as I remember owners were to provide ca$h for big name transfers - Barry's good but definitely not a big name)

As far as I know Dani Carvalho has been overweight for half a year or so. And has been constantly fined for that reason. But he's good one when in proper form.

However, Liverpool maintains a €2 million buy-back option over the player; this clause can be used in 2008. If Liverpool don’t take back Barragán by then, when he’s 21, they'll have another buy-back option in 2011. But at that moment his price will have increased.
