  2. That's not true and you know it. I think everyone will agree with your point there!
  3. Once again, it was a minority of a minority. Why use it as a stick to beat yourself up?

  5. This is getting us absolutely nowhere. No-one's changing anyone else's minds and it's just going round and round. To put it into context, the majority do not sing it, as far as I'm aware, no-one at all sang it two week's previously against Man Utd in a much bigger Liverpool crowd and the majority were not singing it on Saturday and that was a hard (ish) core of our match-going away fans. A lot were looking at each other when the song was getting its airing and lots were looking at the areas where people were singing it wondering where the f*ck it had come from. It's a minority (albeit a significant one) of a minority (our away support) who sing it. It is not "Liverpool fans" singing it in the same way it was not Evertonians singing "murderers" and giving it the pushing and crushing gesture on Saturday (although a minority clearly did). Basically, we're allowing the minority to set the agenda here. This s*** lobbing only brings us all down and is being used as vindication by others to justify their hatred of us just as some Liverpool fans justify singing s**** about other teams because "they started it". The truth is, it's a downward spiral of hatred, animosity and ultimately, violence. We've been here before, come out of it and it looks for all the world like we're falling (throwing ourselves) back into the black hole. Can we discuss something more constructive?

  11. My thinking exactly.
  12. They most certainly did, so much so in fact that I think the bookies made them slight favourites. What Malcolm McDonald wasn't going to do to us wasn't worth doing. Newcastle simply had to turn up to win etc etc. Makes it all the sweeter when it's like that.

  17. General sale in yer cup final. Anyone remember that? No offence, humour, mocking and yet so true. Shirley, it's what all songs to the oppositon should be like? And I take it you're on about Chelsea's rock-star-type rider in that Cheshire hotel? I think Cheryl Cole put them on to that.

  21. Again, you're missing the point. The song wasn't sung at all when there were many, many more of us present two weeks earlier when we were beating the club who's fans are the worst for the "murderers" chant and I'd say a majority of away fans weren't singing it on Saturday either (although a significant minority were). So it's not a huge number of people we're talking about here so to say "bad taste on our part" is akin to accepting the responsibility yourself when you've already made your oposition clear.
  22. Aye but the genie's out of the bottle now and she ain't going back. The songs aren't off limits, are they? More and more clubs are singing it as we've read and heard ourselves. How many of us hate hearing our support described this way? I know I do and although there's no way I'd have sung it on Saturday (or ever), at least something is being done to address it (at least I sincerely hope that's the philosophy behind it).

  24. Like the reactions when people would call black people by the "n" word or call gay people queer, once the former insult has been re-appropriated by the intended victim, it loses all its power. Like it or not, that's clearly the thinking behind this.
