Can we stop this please? It's not a case of Zenden being ahead or behind Gerrard, it's whether LM - Zenden - Alonso - Gerrard is better than LM - Gerrard - Alonso - RM. If we're honest, the only thing we do know is that Rafa went with the former and that we lost the game. There is no way we can be sure that Gonzalez-Gerrard-Alonso-Pennant would've won us the game.

I watched the clip on Neil Mellor and I thought at the time that Carra's little laugh about Mellor being on the list was a bit out of order, but I'm really beginning to wonder what he'd have to say about his own position. Don't get me wrong, I like Carragher and his "I'm norracceptintha" interview is one of my favorites on YouTube, but placing him ahead of the likes of Hansen, Hughes, Souness etc. has GOT to be wrong!

Nice story - 2) had occured to me too. I thought there was one little scene in the Community Shield that points to Crouch already having done some work on his strength, it wasn't spectacular or anything, it was just some Chelsea player actually failing to muscle him off the ball which prompted me thinking "he (Crouch) couldn't do that last year"...
