Apart from torres the other 3 strikers have been poor infront of goal this season.. I would play crouch with torres, crouch is the type of player who needs games to be scoring and he hasnt been getting that this season. I also think torres peels off crouch into the correct positions/spaces better then the other two. Fair enough crouch may hold up the ball at times and slow the play for a few short seconds but he allows the midfield/full backs to get into the play adding more pressure to the oppositions defence and to our attacks. As highly as kuyt and voro's work rate can be applauded, im sorry but we pay these guys to score goals, not to run around like headless chickens. Id much rather prefer both our strikers to play the majority of the game central rather then pulling out wide where our wingers should be. Voro has some vision at times, but his first touch can be v.poor aswell. I personally think we should sell kuyt and voro, start playing babbel in a strikers role and bring in anelka (regardless of his miss) in jan.

off the point of the stocks and shares topic, just a little info that came to mind.. If i remember rightly, when G&H have signed star players for their respective teams in the US, its not been a big transfer fee, but a huge contract for the player..allowing them to pay the player over the period of the contract. fair enough about what you want to believe about what the media is reporting, but once again vidic and evra were at utd a full season before we were taken over, so whats that got to do with GG & TH?

i think everyone is reading to much into this.. rafa didnt say a lot in the confrence, but allardyce is a prick and has mouthed off before,i think rafa's just saved himself a war of words with him. as for the england managers job, every top manager in the fapl has been/will be asked about it, i very much doubt he's intrested he'd much rather prefer to go back to spain then take the england job. the media are just giving themselves somthing extra to add to everything thats going on at the moment.

i think you need to 'get out' what youve said is complete crap!you wanted to see liverpool win the european cup and they done that as well as getting to the final last year, so you cant discount that. were 6 point off the pace not 15 and we still in all competitions, premiership, champions league (even though it is slim) fa cup, carling cup.. also i dont know where your getting your stats about united, chelsea and a*** spending less then us combined, i think you need to get your facts right. you know what i dont even want to spend the time to explain how stupid you and your post is.

are you suggesting because you've seen little of anderson he's not a good player? he's come with a very high reputation, and several reports from some of the worlds best critics/managers/coaches scolari...he's gonna be world player of the year, the best player in brazil etc etc.. and from what ive seen of him he's been a player fitting in very well.. yes alonso, mascherno and gerrard are superstars as well as carra, torres and reina, but compare the rest of the squad/first team to the mancs..they have match winners all over the park (would you like me to name them in comparison to theirs?) whereas ive just named ours. arsenal dont usually have an outstanding player in each game but win as a team..we cant string two decent passes together.. im not saying this season is over at all and you can say whatever you like about us being unbeaten but we've had to many draws imo id rather have lost one and converted more draws to wins, but looking realistically i think we need to buy some quailty for our team/squad and use this season as a setteling in/rebuilding season as arsenal did last season.

Admitedly rafa has bought some quailty players, arbeloa, lucas, babel, torres which is a step in the right direction, i dont think he's bought enough first team regular starters with the quailty to win us a league title. We pay players like kuyt and voronin to score goals not to run around 'working hard' all game, plus they cant play together as they just get in each others way. Benayon is weak, doesnt commit to challenges and defeats the point of being a 'winger', get down the line and put in a cross, which he never does! id rather have kept garcia and have actually missed him, he's the type of player which can piss you off all game but just needs one chance to change a game which would have been great yesterday. Sissoko does the hard work of tracking players, tackling but he cant pass at all wether its short or long. riise is technically crap, Arbeloa is much better, Aurelio could be better if he overcomes his injury problems. Considering Crouch is out of favour and apart from Torres and Gerrard who can we rely on to score goals? we dont have wingers who can chip in.

i never said it was easy, dont get it twisted but it would be good to see a step in the right direction of buying quailty players rather then 2nd rate players who cant string 2 passes together.

Sorry i posted this in another tread.. firstly we need to get rid of several of our players..riise, penant, kewell, sissoko, voronin, kuyt, benayoun...and stop buying these crappy little buys and bring in some quailty. what it somtimes seems like rafa is doing is buying the 'outstanding player' in crap teams, but to many of these players dont have the quality or deserve to playing for liverpool and they wont win us the league. tbh in janurary we need to buy 2 wingers, a striker and a defender and a number 2 for rafa..my choices would be, micha richards, anelka (regardless of what you think of him the guy scores goals when given a chance), van der vaart and quaresma (again i dont care at you think, this guy,he can play with both feet on both wings, scores which none of our wingers do! and most importantly can get down the line and put a great ball in the box rather then cutting in through the middle). if rafa cant do anything with these then it shows theres a problem with his coaching stlye.

yes im sorry my mistake...because all managers sell the best goal scorer they have..12mil for 20-30 goals a season you decided. i could argue about the fowler situation all day long, but i dont have time for that and its not the right thread for it. Outstanding players which only a handful have been kept, mainly in defence, finnan, hyypia and riise..whats happened to the rest? justify how you can put the likes of cheyrou (the next zidane my a***) and diao (stoke city) on 50-60k a week when they dont even play and we struggle to get rid of them.

After speaking to Gary Mac at Athens Airport the day after the final, he said he wasnt intrested in coming back into the game yet. I doubt very much Rafa will want to bring in GH, its taken him long enough to clear out all the s**t players he left us with so he probably wont be wanting to bring him back in to buy some more rubbish and spend more of our money. He slated the way GH worked, cleared out his office of all memrobelia i.e forget about what we've done in the past and look to what were going to do, has tried to sort out the academy which GH opened but done nothing with, changed the releationship with players, even brought back Fowler who GH and his sidekick ruined and shiped out like a fool. Who cares if GH was at the match the other night, so was Paul Jewell, Aldrigde, Kennedy and Fairclough.

Torres and Kuyt seemd to link up well today, both worked very hard and complimented each other in the early stages of a partnership. Crouch and Voronin didnt play to bad in mid-week either considering the hot conditions,plus i dont think Crouch is up to match fitness as he hasnt featured as much as the others in pre season but we all know what he's capable of.. Id like to see what Torres is like with Crouch with his silky footwork and classy goals, then again id like to see how he plays with Voro too, tough, hard working with a little vision too...i just cant decide, spoilt for choice! But who would you choose as your starting 2 in your first eleven?

ive seen quite a bit of Quaresma over the last few years, since he was at barca actually. tbh i think he is a uailty palyer, he has a lot of skil and a lot of potential that needs to be fufilled. he was treated like crap at barca and he was still a kid coming through to the first team they got shot of him quick. since he's been back in portugal he's been playing very well but from what i can see is that he can be lazy at times once he's lost the ball, but i think a lot of that comes from the spanish and portugese style and if rafa can sort that out he'd be a great asset to the 1st team!rafa likes his players to be hard working and he's been watching quaresma for a few years now so he's obviously thinking he can do somthing with him..i think its about time he took some risks with his players, enough of these adaquete players and in with some players with potential. better then ronaldo?no, not yet anyway he's still got some way to go. ronaldos portugal captain and quaresma finds it hard to get into the team at times and it all comes down to performances.
