no, its because while they were in due diligence Parry s*** himself that he'd lose his job and coincidently G&H came along with a bid. DIC were obviously pissed that after getting so deep into procedings that Parry would so easily consider another bid. DIC dont mess about, they have some huge investments, moreso then G&H could think of having. G&H seemed to have got through the due diligence and any other formalaties very quickly in comparision to DIC, they made all there promises very quickly with a big smile and i dont think they understood the job that needed to be done at the club. DIC have just seen everything fall to pieces and thought nows the time to go back and get what we want. Every rich business wants a football club to as a new toy these days, and DIC are no different, there are several american owners around at the moment and a russian but no arabs...the mancs have marketed big time in america and asia and chelsea are trying too. Falling behind and now becoming the 2nd bigest club in the country is a major blow, having DIC on board would give us a lot of marketing potential in the middle east and possibly parts of africa. Taking into account the work they have done in dubai and continue to do (making man made islands 'the world' and instead of the 7km of land they were offered they managed to negotiate 70km)if DIC say the stadium work will being on xx/xx/xx and be completed by xx/xx/xx then it will almost certanily happen with little or no problems along the way. Im sure if they come in and take GG's share they will be influencing a lot of the decisions in the board room, Hicks will still smile and come out with these bulls*** interviews he loves to do but it'll only be a matter of time till he's gone. The only thing DIC and Hicks have got in common is money and thats not even an issue to DIC.

I've already said that its disgraceful that some fans think its ok to use violence so i wont go back to that.. Fair enough, but you need to spend money to make money which G&H havent done (anything you think they've spent has balanced itself out for them through loans). Any owner of a football club/business is out to make money its just how you go about doing it. You cant become rich wiout success in football or any sport for that matter. Were the 2nd biggest club in the country but are behind the other 3 in terms of profitabilty. The mancs continue to expand their stadium and buy 20mil+ players every season, arsenal have bought a new stadium with the help of some arabs which went to plan and they still continue to buy quailty players and chelsea look to find themseleves a new stadium or expand their own and buy big money players. We have plans for a new stadium for god know how long and have bought one big money player who has come up trumps, would be nice if we could do that every season!

i want G&H out as much as every other fan, but there needs to be a comprimise with the fans and how we go about 'protesting', the spitting and drink throwing to Hicks Jr in the sandon is taking things to far for my liking im sure he would have got the message from the singing and chanting. Furthermore its not only having a problem off the field but on the field to, i think the last 2 months worth of results have shown that, the fans have constantly been protesting and forgetting the players need us too. This was a big dofference i noticed on wednesday night when we all got behind the players and helped them to get the job done. The atmosphere was completly different from games i've been to over the past weeks, almost like a fresh breath that we can still go to matches and help our team. Lets just hope this incident with Hick Jr will have him going back to daddy and saying lets get the hell out of here.

Tried to start it off and see how it would catch on on tuesday night but it was just to loud to even hear myself in the kop.. I know i'm thinking ahead but were not a millions miles away from beng in the final again...tbh its not much just a slight modification of another song we have, but i thought it went quite well.. oo oo oo were gonna be going to moscooww with xabi alonso, lucas from gremio gerrard and mascheranooooo
-
tried to start a song off last night but it was so loud in the kop i couldnt be heard..i couldnt even hear myself...nothing special just a modification.. oo oo oo were gonna be going to moscow we got xabi alonso lucas from gremio gerrard and mascheranoooo would love to hear it being sung seen as though we dont have anything for this seasons campaign..
-
well done to him last night for his goal, but still we pay this man to score goals and not to run around like a headless chicken! which he hasnt done consistantly enough! 1)i had to eat my words twice last night at the game, the guy next to me said kuyt's on a run, and then he went and scored and we could only laugh.. 2)i saw pennant on the touchline 'oh f*** not pennant!' the guy in front turns around 'pennants good mate' 'he's f***ing s***, what has he done, how many goals has he scored and how many assists has he got?' then he went and set up the first goal haha and had a hand in the 2nd! still there both not god enough..
-
shame he's not 20 years younger

Sorry dont know if its already been discissed.. Now that momo's gone, what do we do about the best midfield in the world song? 'oooo we got the best midfield in the world.. we got xabi alonso, ........ (fill in the blank somehow with lucas), gerrard and mascheranoooo.' has anyone come up with anything yet? hows about.. 'oooo we got the best midfield in the world.. we got xabi alonso, babel & leiva gerrard and mascheranoooo.'
-
this is the problem, imo we should definetly be paying the money for him. but we need better wingers, muuch better wingers and better strikers to replace voronin and kuyt, babel being one of them. this is when i think we'll be able to see better stats from masch. at them moment because he clears everything up other players get to complacent and lazy, leaving gaps and not defending as they should be, the same thing going foward, torres and gerrard are scoring all the goals getting all the chances and everyone else relies on them too much. riise's goals have dried up and he's been worked out, kewell is not the player he once was and is finished, pennant;'s not fit to wear our shirt, cant cross cant shoot and has scored one goal for us, yossi is ok i suppose as a squad player but there is much better then him around, kuyt works hard but doesnt do what we pay him to do..score bloody goals and voronin isnt all he was cracked up to be, maybe if he had come into a team which had a better structure it may have been different. none of these guys are strong enough players to make a difference in a game.
-
plus our wide players are a load or crap. (not including babel who i think in time will be playing upfront its just good experience for him playing out wide allows him to develop his game).
-
thats an outrageous comment, xabi has been injured for a long time. when he was due to come back he played the chelsea game (and wasnt match fit) and got injured again. Agreed atm gerrad and masch are the preffered option but rafa has a rotation policy dont forget so im sure he'll get his fair share of games. furthermore were looking to sell momo and i very much doubt rafa will sell xabi too, he wont want to rip apart our midfield which is very stable. The thing is our calender is a lot more congested then other leagues in europe, with spanish players they dont mind the rotation policy as much as other players do, they dont mind having a break. lol what a turn of the tables, one minute rafa is getting slated for rotating now because he's playing the same midfield people want to start making up rumors for the papers to write about.

id like to see us in one either one of two formations, reina arbeloa/finnan carra agger arbeloa/aurelio gerrard alonso masch yossi/babel torres babel/crouch or reina arbeloa/finnan carra agger arbeloa/aurelio gerrard/lucas masch alonso yossi/gerrard torres babel but the only problem is that when these guys arent fit due to injury or the number of games, we dont have good enough personnel to be able to fit into a 4-3-3. Pennant, kewell, voronin and kuyt just arent good enough for that formation, they dont offer enough.

Theres no helping some people. this ones a lost cause lads..
-
you obviously have no concept of business. selling shirts, marketing your company/products = brand awarness, which leads to more money coming into the club, which can then be spent on better quailty players. does g&h taking out loans to fund the new staduim not intrest you seen as though the club will be in some serious debt? like i asked before, do you seriously want to be playing in the 1st division with leeds and notts forest and be know as has beens? because im sure you'll give a s*** when that happens!
-
yes a good manager and players = trophies, doesnt mean to say that the board has to be great though well then i suggest you go and live in the dark ages! and you still havent answered my question, compare parry to dein, gill and keynon and where does he stand? but after the statment youve just made i dont think i need an answer.
-
the trophy cabinet has nothing to do with parry. or am i forgetting that he the guy leading the training sessions, picking the team, giving the orders on the touchline and the halftime team talks??
-
sorry if i stated a incorrect fact. and the rest? your going to tell me he had nothing to do with that? he's kept liverpool at the same level that it was from when he took over, and im not talking about trophies that credit needs to be given to the manager. compare parry to david gill, peter keynon (managed 2 of the top 4 very sucessfully) and david dein, parry is 4th in theat pecking order and because of that, out of the top 4 liverpool are 4th in terms of stature and where we stand at the present. (thats not talking about the global market).
-
i agree, they get everywhere and thats how they've become one of if not the biggest club in the world, as much as i/we hate the mancs they are doing things in the right way and liverpool should take a leaf out of thier book! id rather have more supply then have the shelves completly bare and the lfc.tv saying 'we are working on getting more out in the stores asap' or somthing along those lines.
-
your being nieve, is it not a chief exec's job to be dealing with all these issues? he's the one there to overlook the day to day running of the club and we've been porly run. do you see or hear about the mancs, chelsea or arsenal having any problems with there club, marketing, transfers etc etc. football is not just a game in the modern age, its a business and like any other business you need to be succesful in all areas to survive. or would you rather liverpool fc be playing in the 1st division alongside nottingham forest?
-
everyone is only thinking about what parry has been f***ing up on recently..he's messed up quite a lot in the past aswell, are we forgetting the many players we've missed out on over the years because of messing about with transfer fees or contracts, how we nearly lost stevie.g, how he allowed macca, owen and several other players to leave the club over the years for no or little fee, screwed over roy evans by putting in place a 'joint-managership', which made LFC look like a laughing stock, we failed to capitalise on the champions league victory in 2005 with the little or no marketing exposure which could have increased revenue. anything im forgetting?apart from his ties and his haircut...

Why do we have such a poor record against the big sides?
LondonRed replied to RafaShanks's topic in Liverpool FC
sorry think i put this in the wrong thread earlier... I actually found it quite embarrassing how we played today, we couldn’t put passes together and when all else failed we just looked to the long ball. Admittedly for the last 15 minutes or so they just put everyone behind the ball but we just kept pumping long balls into the box..a defenders dream, any defender that is, would love to deal with long balls all day long. No movement or short balls to open up and find the gaps from our players which is what should be done when teams are defending so deep with so many bodies. It just showed today how far ahead the mancs are ahead of us in terms of quality, they have match winners and quality players all over the pitch, whereas we have to many 'good/average' players and not enough quality players who would be able to fight for a place in a fapl eleven if you like. Riise is poor not matter how he might have defended today, he's to one dimensional and the one thing he had going for him seems to have gone, being his killer shot. Kuyt in the first half was non-existent and in the 2nd half I don’t understand what he was trying to do by taking one 2/3 players at a time on his own. Regardless of today’s performance, he's not a striker who should be playing for a premiership winning side, I’m sorry but we pay this guy to score goals, not to run around 'working hard'. Kewell just isn’t the player he was once was and even though he's come back from injury, doesn’t look like he's going to get anywhere near the form we need him to be at. Yossi can play well against crap opposition but as much as I didn’t want him to, he's proving me right when i thought he's not good enough to step up and pull out a performance against the top sides or when he's got better opponents in front of him, he done it against arsenal and now against utd. btw don’t know if its been mentioned but he was also at fault for the goal today, he didn’t play the offside trap and run out with the rest of the lads when the corner was taken, otherwise tevez would have been offside. Hyypia has been a great player for us over the years and he still 'does his job', but to win a title we need someone who will give us more the just doing a job, someone that can make a difference. Along with all of these mentioned voronin, pennant and sissko just aren’t good enough to win us a title and in my opinion they need to go and better quality needs to be brought in, starting with some quality wingers and a strike partner for torres, torres just cant be expected to do it all every game of the season, much the same with gerrard, yes he doesn’t always step up against the bigger teams but there seems to always be so much on his shoulders to be the man. there should be other players around the pitch to take the mantle. G&H were there today, and although they may not understand 'soccer', they would have hopefully have noticed that there is a lot of work to be done if they want to own a winning side. -

Liverpool - The team this country loves to hate! let them keep trying to put us down, were like a sleeping giant ready to wake up.
-
i think voronin needs to be taken off and rafa brings on a midfielder so we can go back to 4-4-2. riise needs to stop this crap pumping the ball upfield all the time to!
-
we may as well be playing with 10 men, voronin isnt even attempting to get himself into the game!
