  1. Lewandowski would be the perfect striker for us. Sadly, this won't happen 100%.
  2. Thanks for that. My research was messed up because Benteke missed the last World Cup - hence he wasn't featured in important statistics.
  3. I think the pecking order is Lukaku -> Origi -> Mirallas -> Mertens/Benteke. Any followers of the Belgium team who can clear that one up?
  4. Benteke is clearly Plan A in our search for a new striker. Let's just hope that there is a Plan B if the two sides can't come to an agreement soon. The best time to buy players is right now. Selling clubs have enough time to get their replacements in, and new players enjoy an adequate period of time for settling in. That's what makes the rumoured the deal with Villa (cash + Lambert) so appealing. Villa would have enough time to look for a replacement, and already received some sort of insurance policy in Lambert. A Win-Win situation for all sides involved. If the deal with Villa takes too long to be done, that's when things get ugly (see autumn 2014: Balotelli, Mario). So who or what could be Plan B? Bacca, Dybala, Vietto, Martinez - already signed elsewhereRondon - rumour mill went quietReus - no out and out striker; only possible if Dortmund (having already shipped out Immobile) get an able replacement in (Volland?)Higuain, Cavani, Benzema - not realistic because of wage demandsJovetic, Salvio - injury prone/injuredLacazette, Icardi - wild cardsGriezmann, Vela - No out and out strikersWhat to look for in Plan B? Someone who is able to play with Sturridge, or can replace him in the side How to make Plan B work? It's simple: Throw a lot of money at a club that can't turn that kind of offer. Most realistic option if a fee with Villa can't be agreed: Berahino
  5. Gerrard Lucas Sterling
  6. Toure Lucas Sterling
  7. "Red Sox owner John W. Henry flew to Dubai last week to attend to business involving his Liverpool soccer team - the most delicious rumors inevitably suggested he might be trying to sell". Highly trusted Boston Sports Insider Gorden Edes in a recently posted article on ESPN.
  8. The most disappointing thing is that the players bought over the summer previously showed that they have the needed quality or potential to succeed at the required level. But as of now there's no system and no self belief. Everytime our team gets on the pitch it looks like it's consisting of 11 randomly picked players. This is clearly not a unit yet - and it's BR's job to make it work. Hoping for the very best, I'd go for the following team until Sturridge returns: Mignolet - Manquillo, Skrtel, Toure, Moreno - Lucas - Henderson, Allen - Lallana - Borini, Sterling Subs: Jones, Lovren, Johnson, Can, Gerrard, Coutinho, Lambert
  9. Our team is still not a unit. Too many mistakes in the build up play. And when attacking, the running routes are all wrong. No organisation, a lot of confusion. And the sad thing is - these men can play. But something is just very wrong. Again.
  10. Coutinho Sterling Henderson
  11. Moreno Lallana Lovren
  12. Lallana Lucas Sterling
  13. Moreno Henderson Manquillo
  14. 1. Henderson 2. Sterling 3. Moreno
  15. Sterling like a young Michael Owen there. Good play by Can just before the chance.
  16. 1. Lovren 2. Sterling 3. Henderson
  17. According to Wikipedia he signed a new contract in November, and the contract expires in June 2018. I would definitely understand if we're looking at Julian Draxler (yes, please) or Benedikt Höwedes. But Meyer? He's just 18 years old. Seems like we were already intested last winter, until he signed a new contract.
  18. I like this signing. It reminds me of Real Madrid buying Sami Khedira from VfB Stuttgart when he was no household name yet. There are so many quality players in the Bundesliga nowadays - and the best of them won't leave Germany unless it's a really great step up in their careers (like Özil, Schürrle or Mertesacker did). This could well turn out to be one hell of a signing. Until then it gives us another option off the bench.
  19. 1. Sterling 2. Henderson 3. Suarez Johnson, Flanagan deserve to be up there too
  20. 1. Suarez 2. Sturridge 3. Johnson
  21. 1. Henderson 2. Allen 3. Gerrard
  22. Winning ugly in any way possible Can see another wild challenge and a red from some United player - and a clear penalty not being given.
  23. Hinteregger is a very good prospect. Having watched him over 30 times this season, I can see why many clubs are looking at him right now. He is ready for a move to a stronger league, preferably the Bundesliga or Serie. But he's not the answer at CB for Liverpool right now. In 2-3 years maybe, but not now. A strong, no nonsense defender with good heading abilities and good decicsion making. He comes across as a Stephane Henchoz with more attacking abilities. A worse goalkeeper though
  24. Is there any possibility that the City game could be brought forward to Saturday? Or is Sunday the 13th of April definitely the final date for the match?
