I don't think there has been any mind games going on at all with the two parties.I said a couple of weeks ago that I thought that Sevile were being unreasonable due to us 'stealing' Barraghan off them and they were trying to make up for that 'shortfall' by insisting we met their terms and conditions. Earlier in the thread someone mentioned irony but never picked up which irony they were talking about, but forgive my cynicism, I find it interesting the Alves negotiation seems to be back on the moment the deal for Barraghan is concluded with Deportivo. If the cash for Deportivo is now being used for the initial downpayment, which concludes the Alves deal, then Del Nido has saved face. It doesn't alter the valuation of the player only the payment terms, of which 1.7mill would have been a sizeable amount of cash that Seville would have had to hand if they had kept Barraghan and sold him on later. I can't blame Del Boy for that and am assuming that the buy back clause we have installed in the sale of Barraghan will be paid by the freed capital in the second instalment to Seville. It's been a long day and I hope I make sense.
