Well I was there and would defend our stewards on this occasion. The guys at the pathway were good, told us where to go, said what to expect at the next checkpoint. The one who was just in front of the cordon kept saying to us, just smile at them, dont talk to them or touch them, its all very calm, lets keep it that way and keep smiling.

Dreadful organisation ( again). I left the bar a bit earlier than Raj and got in just about 5 mins before kick off. Thanks to Garreth, who looked after me in the queue, it was not as bad for me, as say Benfica or Chelsea away last time. But I hear it got much worse. On the lower tier where i was, there was no aisle, gangway of any sort, you could not move in or out. The stewards all stood and watched the game from the ground level and made no attempt to keep exits clear. Saw part of the team leave after the game. A lot of Spanish fans hanging round to see their Euro heroes. Pepe and Arbeloa came over for pics and signed things. Alonso did not. But the star was Kuyt who posed paitently for photos, signed anything and was a real gem for those waiting.

Heading off to Madrid in the morning, might pay a visit to the Turkish baths for a little pre match detox
