We played like a team who don't have much more to play for in the league. Which is a surprise because we, er, are a team who don't have much more to play for in the league. More width needed. Play Robbie from the start in the next game.
I have a lot of time for Lawton, the style and content of his writing has an air of intelligence most other writers only dream about. In this case his point is exaggerated but has an element of truth; a creativity infusion is essential for our transformation to England's best.
Cascarino usually is full of praise for Benitez so I wouldn't get too upset about this. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...ticle718011.ece http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...ticle642439.ece http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...ticle727706.ece
We seem to be doing worse with an arguably stronger squad than last season. I think the key points are the failure to sign a top class striker, the injury to Harry Kewell and earlier in the season loss of form of key players.
Made me laugh that bit. Whilst the ball was in the air (which was probably around 3 minutes) I was thinking that there had to be a benefit of making the decision to loft the ball vertically. It was soon followed by the realisation that there is a reason why I hadn't seen a player perform that trick before. Mystifying. (Still boss though.)
Ain't having that - he put in a good commanding performance for the 90 minutes prior to the incident as well as the 9 league home games prior to today.
I feel physically sick but at the same time proud of the performance - a similar performance on Tuesday and we're in the CL quarter finals. All that's missing is a top class striker but we all knew that anyway.
