  1. There's only one Snoogy Doogy. If that.
  2. HT Kewell for Zenden 60 mins Crouch for Kuyt 80 mins Bellamy for Finnan
  3. With Kuyt coming back to the midfield we've basically played between a 4-4-2 and a 4-2-3-1 this season. Since his first season Rafa has rarely ventured into playing with an extra 'midfielder' and other than the odd occasion I see no reason why this should change.
  4. Would people still be saying this if we'd won last night?
  5. We will win another CL under Benitez - FACT. YNWA
  6. You could make the case that Pennant is more ready for this game than Kewell. p-p-p pick up a Pirlo Sorry. I blame pre game nerves.
  7. Today I've done 5 poos. I'm pretty sure I'll get to number 6 but the fear is I'll wake up tomorrow still on number 5.
  8. Rafa talks about learning from last time and focusing his team selection on the relative strengths of the opposition so I'd be surprised if Alonso, Mascherano and Gerrard don't start in the middle. We can't afford to leave the spaces in our midfield for the Milan midfield to thread balls and make the runs that will hurt us. If we do play 3 in central midfield we're not asking Stevie to win us the game but we're asking Pennant to have the game of his life. If Zenden starts on the left, the only outlet in space high up the pitch for the most part will be Pennant. We'll need his decision making and quality of cross to be as good as it was in the second leg of the semi. For this reason I wouldn't be surprised to see Kewell start - we may lose out on tracking back the Milan full backs but it will release some of the burden on Pennant to be the only outlet.
  9. I feel the same about Distin - he has his fair share of good games but he's prone to the odd f*** up. The trouble is though that if Sami leaves we'll need to replace him with someone who (a) is a quality player and (b) won't want to affect the natural order of Carra and Agger being the first choice pairing. Finding someone who fills those criteria will be tricky - in an ideal world Sami will stay next season.
  10. Eto'o to stay at Barca next season... http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2086149,00.html "I am happy here," he said. "There is no problem, no crisis. The press can write what they want, but I am staying." When asked about a move to Liverpool, Eto'o was just as forthright. "I have not heard anything," he said. "These kind of things are usually just speculation and don't come through to me. I am happy at Barcelona and will definitely be here next season. I have no idea where I will be in a few years time, but at the moment I have a contract with Barcelona until 2010."
  11. Same players named in the Times. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle1816688.ece Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher are expected to sign new contracts shortly after the Champions League final. Liverpool had hoped to be able to announce new deals for both players before the final, but, although they have been agreed in principle, neither is finalised. The club also expect to agree new deals with José Manuel Reina, Steve Finnan, Daniel Agger and Xabi Alonso.
  12. I was confident he'd stay till watching that. Maybe Balague was right and a lot hinges on what happens on Wednesday.
  13. Haven't we had this thread before? It's good but would have been better without Pacino.
  14. I started to cheer then realised cheering any Drogba goal was just plain wrong then curled up into a ball and cried.
  15. Noticed Lampard at the end of the game with the same 'we're the best two teams in England fighting on all fronts'. That's all well and good but the history books won't remember you fought on all fronts. They'll remember you won the 2 domestic cup competitions and didn't come close to winning the European Cup.
  16. He can't play unfortunately.
  17. This reminds me of the Arsenal-Man U final a couple of years ago. s**** and destined for penalties.
  18. I don't really seem to believe it's happening yet. 2 European Cup finals in 3 years doesn't really make sense. Once the 3rd/4th play off is over I'm sure the nerves will be through the roof.
  19. I'm not against the idea of female commentators but the truth is she is terrible. Reminds me of when shows let a competition winning kid commentate. Anyway on a totally unrelated matter, I'm off for another lecture at the Mike Newell College of Life Skills.
  20. This is the type of player Chelsea need. Premiership proven players who won't mind putting time in on the bench but will do a good job when chosen. With a centre back and striker equivalent of Sidwell they would have gone closer this season. Why they need cover at centre midfield though is a puzzle. Departures are on the cards.
  21. He can blame who he wants, the truth is Sheff Utd were one of the worst 3 sides in the league and I'm glad they'll be playing Championship football once again.
  22. Who does he play for?
  23. Ah the 4 stages of the outrageous speculation thread... 1) Excitement - please let this be true 2) Denial - there's no way it could happen 3) Contemplation - well it might happen, how would this fit in with our plans 4) f*** it, we don't need X, X is s***
  24. Number 19 will come within the next 2 seasons, so no they won't match us at 18.
  25. Correct. It'll be the Super European Action Ball League of Champions (that aren't champions) 3000.
