    If Konate won’t sign he has to be sold so it’s a straight swap, perhaps almost even financially. But we’d still be one short then. If Konate does sign, as I think he will, Quansah would cover at least half the fee. I think I’d like Q to stay though. Fella is a unit

    Surely Newcastle are still a stepping stone though. If the big leagues come calling, you go. I can’t claim to know whether or not he’s good enough as I have seen a few articles saying he’s rubbish in the air but he’s only 19 so plenty of time to improve that if true.

    So what do we reckon? Given all the briefings, can we expect an announcement before the game at the weekend?

    That’ll be one more year of both I reckon. Gives us another year for succession planning and to bed in the newbies this season but still have the option to get a fee for a move to Saudi next year, for Mo anyway. If they decide to stay for the 2 years then it’s a bonus. Win win all round.
