  1. Good game that. I always remember how good the Gooners were with my lad in Cardiff when they must have been gutted. I also think they can upset the Munsters or the Chavs. And then I remember it's only the Hillbillies they beat. A drummer generating a "cheat" chant? Deary deary me.
  2. Tuesday to Thursday. Anyone else doing Manc to Barca changing at Amsterdam on KLM? I know it's a bit Michael Palin but Airmiles-you know it makes sense.
  3. Kevin Sheedy bought me a Tiger Beer and offered me a discount on under-floor heating. I accepted the beer, but not the discount. That's it.
  4. The shot that hit the Kop gantry looked like one of Phil Babb's attempts to control the ball.
  5. Don't agree with that. I thought he held the ball up well and linked the play effectively. He should have scored, yes, but I'd have taken that result before the game.
  6. He was excellent yesterday and I was impressed with his attitude. He even found time for a laugh when he slipped in front of the Kop. As somebody else said he didn't mope around like some of them.
  7. It was obvious that Crouch would start. Even with Carvalho they would have struggled in the air and the second ball was always likely to bear fruit for us. I thought Bellamy might have come on sooner but it was a good comfortable win so you have to say Rafa got it right.

So if we had a chant of "Justice" at every game it would change things would it? Get real. The Justice Campaign should respect entirely the memories of those lost and affected by Hillsborough. It's not a repertoire of songs to be aired every week and there is an enormous amount of work put in by the families and the HJC to reach their goal. It's disrespectful to say it's little more than "lip service". "Stand up for the 96" is disgraceful. It's a beaut Soccer AM chant that some whopper or other decides to trot out at a quiet time. Do they go home and tell everyone they got the Kop to stand up? Do they know what Justice they seek? Do they know the families' opinions of their loved ones' memories being turned into a little ditty? Well they won't get me standing up for it. I fully support the Justice Campaign but I know how to do it in a dignified manner.
  9. Oh dear me, we beat their chums and they didn't like the way we did it. Rafa recognised how to beat them, picked a team to do the job and got three points. Pity Rafa isn't a genius who can't get the best striker in the world to play and sells all his centre halves on the eve of the season-perhaps they'd respect him if he did that? Do they say the same about the Chavs when they grind out dull wins?
  10. I thought the City and the stadium were OK. It's in the Sunday S*n so it must be true. Can't stand us winning, can they?
  11. An old-style Arsenal-Mancs game for me. Arsenal to win, two from each side sent off, a couple of injuries to key players and a big kick off after which the FA dock them both points.
  12. That sounds like it was written by someone who never visited Stamford Bridge when those die-hards used to go. I have always intensely disliked Chelsea, even when there was never even the remotest danger they would win anything. If it hadn't been for Abramovich they would be were Leeds are now and I for one would celebrate that. Since getting all this money they have behaved like that Chav who won the lottery. They are graceless in defeat, the press is scared to criticise them and they play turgid football despite all their largesse in the transfer market. And Peter Kenyon.

I don't necessarily agree with that. KFS is a decent idea. Why would somebody want to take a flag with the name of some obscure market town on it to a Liverpool match? They only do it so their mates can see it on TV and the idea of supporting the team isn't spending all the first half on the phone trying to get someone to spot you on the telly. If they're that desperate to be on telly audition for X Factor. RTK needs to work out exactly what it aims to achieve. Stopping Soccer AM chants and getting behind the team are what I thought it was about and that seems fair enough. But a few seem to think they are the RTK police, and some of those possibly never stood on the Kop in the sixties and seventies. Whatever, RTK and the Justice Campaign should not be seen as the same thing.

The problem has been with it though that the Justice campaign has become entwined with it, and that's not right. A Soccer AM chant telling everyone to stand up for the 96 is not dignified. It dilutes the impact of targetted events and will give people more ammunition to have a go at us. The Kop was never about campaigning, it was about getting behind the team. When the Soccer AM chant starts I cringe. And I won't stand up; there's a time and a place. Anyway, because we had a good atmosphere for an FA Cup tie against Arsenal and a League game against the reigning Champions doesn't say a lot really. People were still stopping halfway through YNWA and there are various reports of "Who are ya?" from the Moan Stand and Irish Triclours on the Kop. There is a long, long way to go.
  15. I was thinking the same thing. They are a bunch of snides who share around the fouling to minimise red cards. But you need to do better than that to put Xabi off in his current form. Very disappointed with Finnan when he put the ball out for that cheat Robben.
  16. Only because he hates us you beaut.
  17. First time I've seen that Riise effort on TV-it was a nailed on penalty. At the game it didn't look like it but trust the referee to miss it anyway.
  18. He was excellent today and should be in the side ahead of Riise. Riise did well in the second half but his inability to do even the most basic thing with his right foot meant missed opportunities today. Aurelio looks more composed, he's decent with both feet and he can cross a ball.
  19. Will they put it on a DVD for the fans? Could be a big seller that from the Halfway House to the Taxi Club.
  20. Is that it?
  21. Our spell doesn't exist, it was before 1993. You'll get yourself banned off Red Cafe for blasphemy like that. That's if you ever go on your own sites you sad t***.
  22. (Cont. P94)
  23. Mancs "World's Greatest Club" Barcodes "World's Greatest Supporters" Everton "People's Club" These are all stupid monikers made up by people who don't really want to admit the truth. Liverpool "England's Most Successful Club". I know we don't use it, but there's no need is there?
  24. First Liverpool Manager to have won a trophy in each of his first two seasons.
  25. As predicted Cardiff's gates are dropping. 13,000 odd on Saturday for the home defeat by Southend. Oh , and their idiot fans are banned from Molineux for an upcoming game because of the trouble they've cause there in the past. Some fans are hiring a blimp, apparently.
