  1. If he's improved so much why was he only on the bench at Marseille against us?
  2. Yes, that's me. I've unblocked it so you can mail me if you like.
  3. There are four of us. PM if you want a number. I think we've met before (Betis maybe), but the offer's there.
  4. The Anvil's the place to be.
  5. The Club should make anyone applying for Besiktas send in proof that they went to Porto. A copy of a flight ticket or hotel booking confirmation should do it. There's plenty of time to do it as well. Our allocation for Besiktas will probably be about 1,600. If I miss out to some credit hunter I won't be happy.
  6. I want it now. I've watched every game on telly and when we play Real Madrid me and my mates want to go there. That's the attitude. But we go everywhere. Everywhere. Earn your stripes lads. Build up your credits. Taste the disappointment of getting locked out. Seriously. people don't know the score. Barcelona 1976 in the car with £40 between us; border patrols at Berlin away; pay on the gate at St. Ettienne; rub outs; Howie Gayle in Munich. And I should stand aside because you want a little jaunt? Where were you at Galatasaray? Or in Athens in 1984? Everyone in the seventies and eighties was a regular. The same lads at Brighton away or Carlisle or Spurs would be at Alkmaar or Widzew Lodz. Why are people picking and choosing? Can't make it to Portsmouth but I'll be in the San Siro. Part-timers.
  7. Boo hoo, I want to go to a Euro away game and it's not fair. I tell you what, I'll give up my loyalty to make you feel better. After all, I've been doing Euro aways since 1973 so I've had my share. If people were that desperate to go away why were there only 500 of us at Galatasaray? While you're at it you can have my tickets for Woodison and Old Toilet this season because I go there every year as well. Why should genuinely loyal fans give up what they've been doing for years just to keep Johnny-come-latelys happy? It's about time loyalty carried over in Europe but they should give the tickets out over there to keep the credit hunters out of it.
  8. Unfortunately this site doesn't permit swearing so I can't say what I think of him. Love to meet him though
  9. If you think those comments are bad read Rod Liddle's alleged humour. He reckons one of the worst sights is "Anfield with it's yellow ribbons and black armbands". And this is in a column where he's basically moaning that Joanthan Ross earns more than him. Nothing to do with football whatsoever.
  10. Me. Souness was a true leader and a winner who did it consistently. He took over from local lad European Cup Winner Thompson half way through the season after we just got battered at home by City and dragged us to the Championship. I coundn't see Gerrard doing that. He was also an enforcer who didn't let anyone take liberties, especially with Kenny. Gerrard has all the ability but until he dominates games and forgets his Ingerlund mates more frequently then he can't be compared to Souness.
  11. Never really understood all this admiration for Berger. A goals compilation DVD would indeed be spectacular but what about the weeks and weeks of inconsistency in between? There were plenty of games where his contribution was non-existent. He had terrible luck with injuries, fair enough, but he just didn't do it often enough. His right foot was about as good as Riise's but he always came inside and rarely put in decent crosses. Half the time it was hard to work out where he was supposed to be playing and his wandering meant the team had no proper shape. A very nice bloke, I'm sure, but never consistent enough.
  12. That's ridiculous. No London journalist would spend eight weeks in a bed and breakfast in Sheffield.

  14. I hate those boards. I can remember the first time I saw them-at Wembley in 1989 against the Bitters. Really distracted me as Aldo scored the first.
