    The funny thing about that game was for all their chances and domination we had opportunities in transition that at our ruthless best (Salah, Mane, Firmino) we win that game 2 or even 3-0. We just couldn’t pass properly.

    Yeah we ceded possession a few times after some of this faffery which made me quite angry and always seemed to result in the recurring loop of Doku running at, and sometimes past, Trent to very little effect. Well ok by “very little” I mean “none” but still, I could have done without the stress of it you know?

    This lad. Honestly. I used to fantasise that Hansen would be the man to take us forward post Kenny and then post Souness. Virgil is the man to make all that come true, he’s absolutely cut out for it if he wants it.

    Dust is settling and I thought it was our best performance in a little while TBF, better than Wolves and Everton certainly. Plenty of energy & created some good chances, just lacked a bit in both boxes. Am weirdly simultaneously alright with, and disappointed with, the point.

    Curate’s Egg that. Really good at times, mystifyingly bad at others. Mistakes in both boxes cost us and let’s face it we could have lost the game. At HT I genuinely didn’t see us getting back into the game so I’m taking the point. I might be in the minority but I don’t think Nunez’s miss was as bad as is being made out, but I don’t particularly want to see it again. Anyway it’s another tricky away ticked off.
