  1. I know. They'll be running stories about Jimmy Tarbuck next...
  2. Interesting article. I've often wondered how streets of terraced housing that would be worth a fortune in London could be tinned up even accounting for the location. Some of the details around the door lintels etc are terrific. I suspect that the area has been in decline for decades and that the club has taken advantage of the fact (rather than being instigators of the decline), which is shameful enough. I also recall, way back in the day, that the 2 old sisters on Kemlyn Rd got fearful abuse and harrassment from misguided supporters. Would love to know more.

  4. I heard the same at Stoke,
  5. ? Doesn't that only matter if Evra speaks spanish?
  6. He's a fat crook
  7. Me. And AntM pere making a rare away appearence.
  8. I was mooching around Craven Cottage on Monday waiting for the team bus to turn up for a bit of a cheer and some of the Fulham players started arriving. Hangeland turned up and was signing autographs etc and some Fulham fan said "You going to have that Suarez in your pocket today, Brede?" and he replied "I'll try... it's not going to be easy" About the only thing Hangeland got right that evening.
  9. Henry had a good first season for Arsenal - it just took him a while to get started.

  11. I agree. Smacks of Souness the victim which isn't that pleasant. On a positive note, what I found uplifting from the interview was the fact that he broached the subject organically rather than being prompted into it by the presenter. Seems like he's wanted to get it off his chest for a while. Would be good to see him back at Anfield watching a game.

  13. Nothing in his life became him like the leaving it.
  14. It does sting. I've got an 8 year old son to break this to as well. Still, we won nothing with him here and we can re-build into a proper competing team.
  15. Interesting point from the Guardian... after that vote of trust in Kenny's judgement it implies that he wil be manager at the start of next season too.
  16. Guardian is reporting £14M for Adam
  17. The Guardian's Dominic Fifield says that Liverpool and Chelsea haven't struck a deal for Fernando Torres yet, a state of affairs that may be down to Liverpool's reluctantance to sell him without lining up a replacement first
  18. He might get a stand named after him if he does
  19. Might be interesting to see what Man City does with this news..... this could end up as an auction.
  20. I think that sums it up. It's now a question if they can regain any credibility if they were to come back (and i appreciate that not many on here thought they did to begin with...). I don't think they can.
  21. £24 million though? It's a good yardstick, mind. I don't think Bent is 48 times better than I am so I reckon I'm worth about £500,000. I'm waiting for that move to Brentford.
  22. Evans. Stamford Bridge. We should have been 3 up but Fowler and McManaman got cocky. I could only get a ticket with the Chelsea fans. One of my worst footballing memories....
  23. That's exactly who he reminded me of... just couldn't put a name to it!
  24. I don't think I said he was supposed to get more out of the squad. In fact, I said that if he achieved the same as last year then that would be an achievement. No-one would ever say that in replacing Benitez with Hodgson we got a manager of equal calibre, but once he became the manager then he deserved time to show what he could do. Otherwise we end up becoming like Newcastle. Now I can stomach a lot of things at the start of a new manager's reign but what's increasingly annoyed me has been his increasingly downbeat comments to the press none of which can serve to inspire the players or the fans. I did wonder
  25. It's that bit, Des. That's the bit where I expect the manager to lift players during the week, Get them believing, get the chests puffed out. With every post-match comment I read it's plain that he can't do that. They must read his comments and find them all so deflating.
