Johnson's very much Downing like with a little more goal threat. If Downing is staying i'd prefer us to be in the market for a different sort of player. Someone in the Silva/Nasri/Cazorla/Kagawa/Mata/Ozil mould who drift between lines and make s*** happen. We need more unpredictable, technical players against these teams who come to Anfield and more often than not dig a result out against us.

Id love to see more runners from midfield making a 3rd man run to get beyond the striker. Its easier to defend when your facing the play all the time.

Yep Alonso got further forward on Saturday as Rafa changed the shape slightly. It was very much 4-1-4-1 with Mascherano shielding behind Alonso and Gerrard. They both got on the scoresheet so id expect to see more of the same in the future.

If its the 17yr old who played for Romania's under 21s last season hes a good little player. He was their best player vs England.

Am i missing something? We haven't got a hope in hell of signing Iniesta. If he came to the premiership he would have a similar effect to Fabregas. Hes a very good footballer.

He was woeful against us. Hes rubbish.

Little Diego at Werder Bremen would fit that role perfectly. He creates and gets his share of goals.

I went to see Sc***horpe Utd vs Hartlepool last night and saw Godwin Antwi play. He looked pretty competent. Reads the game well enough, has reasonable pace and power likes to play the ball out from the back with little or no hoofing. Two main weaknesses stood out for me. The crowd was quiet so I could hear all the players. He didn't seem to communicate to well with the players around him. Secondly he seems to get under the high ball alot so doesn't really dominate in the air. Other than that he looked a good prospect.

Momo Sissoko is not good enough. There is no way he should be played in central midfield ahead of Stevie Gerrard. We need a goal threat from the middle of the park and only Stevie offers this from our squad. We do not score enough goals from midfield but its hardly suprising when Alonso, Mascherano and Sissoko manage about 3 between them a year. In fact its no wonder Stevie looks so pissed off all the time. He has to look infield and see a much inferior player in Sissoko playing in his position.

Is Rafa intent on winning the title with a squad consisting of lots of average players? We're crying out for special players. No disrespect to Benayoun and Bent but i don't think they will turn us into title contenders. I just hope we can make some big moves when La Liga finishes.

Steven Gerrard is our best player by a distance. If i was him and was being played out wide on the left id be looking pretty pissed off aswell.

I get the impression from what poster ST3 was saying is that the book will be ideal for those who have followed KT from day one. Its about the site and the Liverpool Football Club. Other than that i dont know. Im not really a book person so i wont be purchasing a copy if it does come out.

Just seen my thread asking about the book has now been moved and re-opened. Apparently it is being released this season. They have recorded all the people who have pre-paid in advance so nobody will be losing any money.

I just started a thread on KT asking when the book would be completed. Surprise surprise the threads been locked!

Now if we get Kuyt, what will that mean for Crouch? End of? a lot less games? Will Kuyt and Crouch work together. Will we still need an Owen-esque striker alongside them? Lets worry about that if we sign him. I think he could well be partnering Defoe if Cisse has a good world cup and can be sold for plenty of money. Hopefully all the interest in Mori from spanish clubs will push his transfer fee up a bit aswell
