  1. This is the real problem, has Xabi had enough of being kicked all over England, by some of the thugs playing here, and decided it would be easier back home, where he gets more time on the ball. If he has, let's cash in and see how much Barca are willing to spend, maybe a deal involving Et'o, or Iniesta. We are Liverpool let's not get pushed around in the transfer market anymore.
  2. With McLaren in charge, surely a defensive crisis is the least of England's problems
  3. And tell that to the kids of today, and they'll never believe you
  4. What do you guys think of the teams walking onto the pitch from beside the new kop, similar to the s*** end at the toilet. the effect the noise has had on teams previously walking out from under the main stand side has scared the s*** out of them, just wonder if there would be an evan more wtf aspect was that, if coming out beside the kop
  5. What about Steve Nicol, who seems to be doing a pretty good job at New England, he would just have to learn how to win a final instead of just coming up short.

  7. I think when Rafa signed Crouch, most people accepted that he was probably Rafa's 2nd choice after Kuyt, which tends to suggest that Rafa will keep Kuyt before Crouch. I also think Bellamy offers the speedy forward that can harrass defences for 90 minutes, hence first line of defence is up front.
  8. I think maybe Rafa's 1st couple of seasons transfer dealings have been about making the squad stronger and allowing more "possibilities", but i now think he will be going for his number 1 targets that are to strengthen the "first" team, and hopefully our new owners will back up their promises, if a player Rafa really wants is available

  10. I don't think Rafa will be looking to buy two more strikers. I think Voronin's being brought in to replace Robbie, and Crouch sold to make way for one more. Just my thoughts.
  11. What would be the chance that Villa could say to Valencia that he was only interested in joining us, if Rafa was keen enough
  12. Mate i agree it couldn't be used all the time, but against most of the SMALL clubs i think it could be more effective,as has been evident on occasions this season, i just don't think we have enough quality in this squad to use it as much as Rafa would like to. Anyway thanks again guys for not slaughtering my 1st post
  13. Mike, That's why i would class Alves and Aurelio as wingbacks, they get defensive support from Mascherano and the 3 CB's
  14. Thanks for taking it easy on me. I was thinking more along the lines of Alves and Aurelio as wingbacks, which would give Stevie and Xabi more room, like i said i could be delusional, it wouldn't be the first time i being called that. I live in Oz now so it's hard to get a decent discussion with most Aussies, cos they only care about Harry's latest injury and the yard dog Cahill.
  15. Hey guy's take it easy on me, i'm a long time browser, but thought it was time to post a thought. Here goes, doe's anyone else think that Rafa is giving Mascherano time to adjust to life at Anfield, in the same way he did last year with Agger and we've seen the advantages of that already. Also during the summer window with just a few buy's which are not unrealistic we could have a more than useful 3-5-2 system next season. Reina Carra Woodgate? Agger Alves? Xabi Mascherano Aurelio Gerrard Eto/Villa? Kuyt Any thoughts or am i completely deluded Mods feel free to move this or delete if you see fit, it's just me being a newbie
  16. Do we need another reason to dislike Chelsea? Yeah he was a success in Italy, but wasn't one of his main faults with England, not coping with different tactics thrown at him, by the opposition. What would he think with some of the formations that Rafa, Wenger and old red nose could use
  17. After the remarkable success he had with the best England squad in years, let's hope not
  18. I'm sure it's the usual rubbish, surely most big clubs in Europe, would like to have Rafa, but he's at the biggest and is always telling us how happy he is to be here
  19. Probably in the future, but not before his possibilities at Anfield have been completed
