  1. Its different for you guys as you have won it before, but I could just about bear United winning it as there is no new ground being broken by that. For Chelsea to get their grubby little paws on the cup before we do would be very hard to take.
  2. As you Scousers were only too keen to point out at the time of our collapse, you dont win anything for artistic merit!
  3. And what was Messi's contribution over the same tie? Its not his fault, but Messi has never stayed fit long enough to be put in that bracket. I think he could be a far superior player, but for end product, Ronaldo is pretty much untouchable at the moment, despite his faults.
  4. So if were were to load the odds in the favour of the promoted teams, what to stop us doing the same at the top? Star the topp 4 on negative points? cap their spending over the course of a year? I just dont buy it - when the Premiership started, Arsenal were also-rans in the big scheme of things. They got a clever manager, who saw the bigger picture and dragged his club up to the top. Any similar sized club could have done the same, and still can. However, all of the other similar sized clubs are short sighted and impatient, and will sack the manager if the results arent instant.
  5. Thats true, but is a completely different issue to the situation at the bottom of the league, surely?
  6. Couldnt agree more, but his pro's stand out and will probably outweigh the dark side to his game.
  7. Should it though? Not sure of the exact numbers, but heard the other day that since the start of the Premiership, the 3 promoted teams have only once or twice all been relegated together. Sunderland have shown it to be possible. I think that loading the league in anyones favour sets a dangerous precedent. Imagine being a fan of, say fulham, finishing 16th and getting the chop because Stoke, West Brom and Hull are protected in their first year.
  8. I think he's a great player in the modern game. If he stays with Man United for a period of time, I believe (unfortunately) that he will have done everything required to be considered a 'modern great'
  9. It truly is. RIP to a good man.
  10. Having no aliegance to McAllister, I personally wish them all of the misfortune and unhappiness that they and their s***house fans deserve.
  11. But that doesnt mean they should be protected though.
  12. Having watched the play off semis, I think your gonna see the exact same thing next year. Same s***, different team.
  13. The Russians are watching you.
  14. I've been very fortunate in that any european trip i have ever made with Arsenal has been mostly trouble free, but when tempers have flared, its been because the Police have gone in too heavy. That would be my biggest fear in Moscow, regardless of who the 2 sets of fans are.
  15. Youve got some bee in your bonnet about who I actually support - its just so ridiculous that its not even worth commenting on.
  16. Yes, I was all over it when we were still in the hunt. However, the cost was astronomical, and the subsequent stories about fans being put into holding pens for up to 8 hours made it much less desirable. FWIW, I dont think there will be any kind of disaster, and I sincerely hope there wont be, but the CL runs every year. If there was ever to be one that I am not heartbroken to bow out of early, then then this is it.
  17. Thats just too good to be true.
  18. The beauty of it is that everyone starts on 0 points. From that point, anything can happen (Except when Bennett and Riley get involved!) To change that would be to change everything that is good in our league.
  19. By the way, Colin????? whats the reference?
  20. Dont play the innocent victim - i'm new here and I have no beef with anyone. Its you who makes dig after dig at me for saying what I think. and as for my signature, I couldnt have put it any better myself!
  21. It would also detract from a great achievement from the likes of Sunderland. They stayed up on merit, and s*** kickers like Birmingham can, quite frankly, go f*** themselves.
  22. Was talking to my old man about Moscow tonight, with hindsight, really quite relieved to not be heading out there.
  23. Agreed, it would be massively unfair. In the context of this season, imagine if Fulham were sent packing and Derby got to stay up!
  24. Was like pub football. Either of those would be cannon fodder in the big time.
