  1. Its a total mess on the pitch some things are best done quickly in everyone's interests.
  2. Its clear Hodgson is a massive mistake and better to act quickly. No one decent will come till the ownership issue is resolved.Temporary caretaker role only option.
  3. What happened to the money collected for the poster campaign which never took place last year? Can that be used.
  4. I agree that he shows some promise.I worry that he's really just about ok for the 4th striker role rather than being asked to operate in a 4-5-1 system as the back up striker.Hope we dont ask too much of him.
  5. I agree that there is somewhat of a kneejerk reaction match by match.I think what disappoints people is the drawn games that should be winnable 90% of the time-other years it was the top teams which caused more problems. There is a believe that we dont risk losing in order to take a chance of winning.4 draws and 2 defeats is obviously better than 6 draws. The contract issue being played out in the public arena-and Rafa appears at least 50% responsible for all the leaks -have aliented a lot of people in terms of Rafa the person rather than as manager.Constant politics in the public domain isnt good for anyone. The time to take stock is at season's end when it should be clear whether the team and squad are still making progress. If it is well and good even if no silverwear ends up at Anfield.
  6. I have been lucky enough to see Liddell,Dalglish and Gerrard.Liddell was coming to the end of his career and I was really too young to appreciate how good he was. Its hard to compare Kenny who was surrounded by great players in a wonderful team, with Steven who has largely had a decent team with ok players.Steven shines in moments of individual impact as did Kenny to a lesser degree but Kenny had a greater ability to bring other players into the game.Steven has enjoyed good partnerships with Owen and Torres that compare to Kenny with Johnson and Rush but is less able to be the complete team player.Kenny still leads in my book tho Steven seems to mature with each passing season and may finish his career as the best ever red. As an aside I think Hyppia was a great buy and ranks on a par with Ron Yeats just slightly behind our best ever centrebacks.Carra I would rate pretty close alongside Phil Thompson tho Thompson might have read the defensive game slightly better.
  7. Four players spring to mind-Ronnie Moran,Willie Stevenson,Jimmy Case and Craig Johnston. For me Willie Stevenson would just edge out Jimmy Case.
  8. Recent home games show that we struggle for invention and pace-especially against well organised teams who play deep.Babel has both though on an erratic basis.Think he needs to be supported and developed since the prize is considerable if we/he gets it right.Potential match winners are hard to find within our financial budget.
  9. Plessis has not only gone backwards but gives the impression of little effort or application(not just last nights game). You wonder if he now thinks he is too good for this level.Somebody needs to get him back on the right track quickly.
  10. Not wishing to make a meal out of this but as another poster commented its dont hold your breath if you email.Thats why I asked;realise its a voluntary thing and all that but lack of response is frustrating-especially if you've been prepared to put up some money.
  11. How do you actually contact anyone from SOS-if you dont live close enough to attend meetings etc?
  12. On the stated long term and ultimate aim I'm not sure how they are meant to be working with the Shareliverpool projeject tho I notice they shared a recent meeting forum.Emails to SOS have failed to get a sensible reply. I see no evidence of a coherent strategy that moves from the shorter term set of linked tactical actions against Hicks and Gillett towards towards the longer term of seeking links/partnerships with potential future owners(possibly in the form of minority shareholding).
  13. I think there are merits in both points of view. There isnt a problem when you have an outstanding talent like Owen and Gerrard but if Carragher was coming thro in today's system it is unlikely that he would have stayed at the club;there would always be a more talented overseas youngster or young player ready for the first team squad(e.g. Agger). I'm pleased to see Heighway talks of differences with Rafa that are not based on personality-unlike his comments on Houlier. As an aside there is no need to slate Heighway as a player just because he may have come to the end of his shelf life as academy director.
  14. As another poster has pointed out they used to be the only source of Derby games. My earliest memory of a derby game is St John's debut and hat trick in a 4-3 defeat at Goodison.
  15. Dont believe there's any comparison.Houlier's team was going backwards based on one style of play over 6 years and the players had lost confidence in him. The most worrying element of this season is the apparent lack of togetherness and too much playing individually. We cant compete with Utd and Chelsea financially in the transfer market and therefore there is more pressure for the team to be better overall than than the sum of its individual members.Surprising loss of form by key players-e.g. Gerrard and Carragher-will be temporary but a strong team ethos is at the heart of Rafa's philosophy. As an aside Rafa has a proven track record which should give everyone confidence.
